My sister’s wedding was so emotional, even the cake was in tiers.
I hear both
Yanny.
I also didn't realize you were posting "Reader Your Turns"
What is this? I'm listening to something more interesting and not turning it off to listen to whatever this is.
It's blue and black not gold and white.
Yes it's laurel and the dress is blue, we used to say people who couldn't perceive reality were wrong.
I can't hear Laurel at all. Only Yanny.
Yanny
Crazy. Laurel, 1000%.
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE HEARING "LAUREL". SERIOUSLY, GET YOUR HEARING/BRAIN FUNCTION CHECKED. Maybe an MRI.
It's saying YANNY. Where is there ANY "L" sound let alone two of them? Never mind the "A" as in "apple", not "aw" as in "awful".
Yanny.

Laurel
itttt it's playing both simultaneously. Yanny is higher and easier for younger ears to hear. Laurel is lower and easier for older ears to hear. Change the treble/bass and you'll hear both clearly.
yanny
Laurel
It's f*cking laurel:
" So he sent it to a friend who created an Instagram poll, which began going viral early this week. One detail may frustrate some and vindicate others: he found the original clip on the vocabulary.com page for “laurel,” the word for a wreath worn on the head, “usually a symbol of victory.” "

Dog whistle?

This helps explain it in a very easy to understand way by adjusting bass levels. Listen to it, then listen to the original. You may be able to hear either at will.
I only hear Yanny. And I'm not a native English speaker.
first listen on iphone sitting outside: Yanny, plain as day
second listen on iphone, sitting inside: Laurel, plain as day
third listen on iphone, back outside: Laurel
back inside home on PC: Laurel
back inside home iphone: Laurel
back inside home on ipad: Laurel

today on ipad: Yanny
today on PC: Yanny
today on iphone: Laurel
just now on PC via your post: Yanny
then a few minutes later on PC via your post: Laurel
Pretty sure this is a sign of the apocalypse. lol
+1 Don. When I listen on my phone it's Yanny, but on my laptop which has more complex audio settings it's Laurel.
Laurel. Not even a question.
What are they trying to cover up? The last time this happened, with the gold dress, the CIA torture report had just been released and the stupid blue/gold dress questions pushed it out of the public conversation.
What is it this time? Probably Israel killing Palestinians? What else could it be?
Actually, I hear "YAMMY."
I hear laurel - on my phone, my MacBook and on TV.
It’s a llama
@DDonna, it's the kind of neuroscience they don't teach in schools.
Laurel...so I guess that means I’m officially old!
yanny
I hear Yanny
I hear Yanny,no Laurel at all,and I'm old.
Using my phone. I hear Laurel & some weird background noise.
I'm old and I hear Yanny.
I only hear Laurel. My son hears Yanny. Apparently, both words are being said at the same time but on different frequencies. A couple of folks on here need to take a chill pill and lighten up.
CNN Candy, please don't ever stop those jokes, I need them in my day!!
Yanny
Yanny!! But my kid hears laurel
All I can hear is Yanny
Same device,with headphones,heard Laurel! Replayed without,yanny again.

Laurel
Interesting. I clearly heard Yanny earlier today when I listened to this, but just now it was absolutely Laurel.
Yanny This is the auditory unicorn of words.
Use this tool to hear what you're not hearing. I hear is "Laurel", and with the slider pushed all the way to the right, I still hear "Yarry".

I heard nothing BUT Yanni when it was on the news today, now I hear Laurel.
On the radio this morning I clearly heard "Laurel" (lower pitched)
On my iphone from Facebook an hour ago I CLEARLY heard "Yanny" (higher pitched)
Now I'm on my laptop and it is clearly "Laurel" (lower pitched)
I think the speakers have a major part to do with it.
It is both. Which you hear depends on what frequencies your ears are more attuned/sensitive too.
Imagine a color blind person and someone with normal vision looking at the same piece of multicolored art...
Perception is in the mind.
iPhone: Yanny
iPad: Yanny
Desktop: Yanny
I heard Laurel on my samsung phone, walked over to my husband and hit play and he heard Yanny.
I can't help but wonder if this also affects what music we like.
I heard laurel yesterday, was on 2 hours sleep. This morning, after sleeping 10 hours, I hear yanni.
And that's listening on my phone and both time.
This makes you wonder...what else do we perceive so differently from each other? colors?
Has this been changed? I got Laurel yesterday and today yanni (or yammy) @Green Tea Same except last night was sleepless for me!
Yarry ??!!
And now its night time and it is Laurel again.
Hi Sal
I thought maybe being tired vs rested may have been a factor. But I'm back to hearing Laurel...so what do I know.
