Blind Item #14

This restaurant chain is super kid and family friendly. Until recently you would never see an adult in any location unless they were there with a child or for a birthday party of a child. Not so any longer. One of the locations in town has become a magnet for men who come in groups to try and corner one of the children while the other men keep family members of the child distracted and away from what is happening. People have complained, but apparently the owner of that particular location, who also happens to be a registered sex offender is not planning on stopping it any time soon.

  2. Interesting. I literally just -not 5 minutes ago- drove by a Peter Piper Pizza that appeared to be having its sign taken down... Closing? Remodeling? I'll definitely be looking into it...

  3. What city anywhere allows registered sexoffenders to be anywhere within 1500 feet of any church, housing comp!ex, school or any establishment that may have kids in it ( years this is supposed to be Hell A)?

  12. It's not COMET PING PONG pizza owned by JAMES ALEFANTIS who has a basement in one of the other properties that he owns on the same block with CPP, but someone like him, I'm sure.

Here's the story where JAMES ALEFANTIS talks about story tomatoes for CPP in his basement. Just in case, you know, you're one of those people who believed the corporate media when they told you CPP doesn't have a basement.

  15. Probably Chuck E. Cheese's, the one in Burbank near Burbank HS. I've been there. The staff is less than attentive. More and more teens and adults without kids are going there. They used to have an all-you-can eat lunch time buffet and also started serving wine and beer. So guys without kids can show up and just say they're there for the lunch buffet. And the guys doing the "perving" are the patrons and not the employees as some one else commented.

  27. Hey plot - James Alefantis also owns Buck's Fishing World, which just so happens to be in the same connected series of retail shops and is one door down from Comet Ping Pong, with the Little Red Fox (which he also owns) between them.

Buck's Fishing World has a basement, according to James Alefantis himself. It also used to be called Besta (Beast) Pizza.

"Like Pastan, James Alefantis, owner of Comet Ping Pong in D.C., doesn't build his pizza sauce with DOP San Marzanos. For seven years, he has been buying late-harvest tomatoes from Toigo Orchards in Shippensburg, Pa., and canning them at nearby Stello Foods for use at Comet. Last year, Alefantis estimates, he bought 12 tons of Toigo tomatoes, which Stello turned into sauce and canned before trucking the jars to the basement at Buck's Fishing & Camping, Alefantis' other restaurant nearby."

    ReplyDelete
  28. In one year, 12 tons of tomatoes turned into sauce and canned and put into that basement...must be a pretty large basement to house that much sauce and who knows what else.

  35. Most people who read the site enough to bother with the comments know that the guys behind Himmmm have washed their hands of the site, specifically the readers, after breaking the primary rule of not guessing who they were on the site and/or in public.

Shout out to anyone else that watches Defunctland, but Club Disney had a good idea before they ate the dirt: matched identity bands between the kid and the guardian. You could probably be updated with quick-print QR codes or RFID, and reorganize the floor layout for better field of vision if the minimum wage teens wanna pick their nose from a stationary position. You could motivate them with a bounty system! Blackmail could be lucrative.

Or: use the place as a free revolving door sting operation and just have a slice or two between perv busts. Even if you're LAPD I doubt you're going to incur any real risk of hooking any fish you'd have to release back to the pond. The big shots with the actually expensive lawyers are a little more discrete than that, and you can shore up your quota numbers to cover for all the serial offenders you won't actually go after!

See, I'm what you call a problem solver.

I also know that if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, its prima facie fairly conclusive evidence that it might, in fact, just be a duck.

I don't need to get sprayed in the face by a skunk, or stick my head in the mouth of a tiger, to know precisely what they are capable of simply by seeing them. These deviants' own actions, their symbols, their social media, their behaviors out in the open show them for EXACTLY what they are.

  53. Maybe the owner owns it through an LLC or some dba partnership of that sort, that can provide a small amount of cover if someone isn't looking too hard, and/or it's incorporated in a different city than the restaurant location. My guess is that if the owner is a sex offender, that they have to have hidden their access to children from the responsible authorities. Some said early that the law get applied differently for different people, which I think we can all agree upon, so if they're just a regular-joe-pedo, not worthy of the pedo-protection-squad, a look at owners names, and LLC partnerships cross-referenced with the state sex offender list might produce tangible results. Then a quick picture of them around children and the restaurant, and someone has violated their parole.
