I can't say I'm inspired by the casting of this upcoming Dune movie.
Wimpy, insipid Timotheeeee Shamalamadingdong - I'm getting a 'the prince I'd Swamp Castle from Monty Python and the Holy Grail' vibe from this ass hat, rather than the Messianic wunderkind warrir of the books.

Skeletal Rebecca Ferguson reprising the Uber milf Francesca Annis part - admittedly Ms Annis was one of the hottest women to ever draw breath , so that a very high bar to hurdle.
But still, not optimistic. It could make the old Dune movie look like Citizen Kane.
Timothee is filming overseas. It's interesting though, I read the posts of those fans that have met him in Hungary and they only had nice things to say about him. None of them complained that they didn't get a picture with him... As for his co-stars, Momoa and O. Isaac hate him so much that they hang out with him at an Al Di Meola concert... Try again, Enty.

I actually like Chalamet. He was great in his last movies. Problem is I don't think he can carry this movie.
Also, the story, as much as I love the books, is just not interesting anymore. I think we could see a huge flop.

Though it's a different genre, I think GoT has more or less sated the public's appetite for world building fantasy sagas. Not to mention Star Wars. And with the hugely disappointing run of both those behemoths, it just seems to have missed the boat.
I could be wrong. Five or so years ago? Maybe. Now? I doubt it.

Problem is GOT had many years to build that world. A 2 to 3-hour movie about Dune? Even if they only film half of the book. Well, at least it's going to be interesting to see if it's a complete clusterfuck.

Just watched every episode of Dead To Me with Cristina Applegate on Netflix - she is a tremendous actress, the show was amazing and surprising and twisted and funny strongly recommend original programming
Dune is a tough one to translate from book to screen. It would really be better suited as a series on a streamer or HBO.
Remaking Dune. What a steaming pile of shit that movie was. With those worms that looked like they belonged in Dreamcatcher.
