Three Punches In One Year - Snooki Goes For A Record

Lets face it. I have been to lots of bars and even my fair share of clubs. I don't really like clubs all that much because the drinks are higher priced and I'm not a big fan of dress codes. Nothing says serious drinking like a pair of Zubaz.Anyway, in all my many years of drinking I have seen guys get into fights once or twice out in parking lots and even once saw some girls taking a swing at each other. In that case though it was because they were fighting to see who would not have to drive me home.

I bring all of this up because I saw Snooki got into another bar fight this weekend. This makes three we know about in the past year. Lucky for her and MTV they were all captured on film. Makes you wonder how many there have been that are not caught on film. Snooki seems violent when she drinks. Last year when she got punched by that guy after she had slapped him. Two weeks ago she slapped a girl in a bar and this weekend she started taking swings at a girl and grabbed her by the neck and was just trying to take her down. Oh, and she called the other girl a whore. Considering they had met ten minutes ago that seems like not a nice thing to say.

Am I going to the wrong clubs? Are people out there fighting all the time and I am not seeing it? How normal is it to see a girl taking a swing at another girl everytime she goes to a club?

  1. Getting into a bar fight with a stranger is a good way to get seriously effed up 'cause you don't know what the hell you're dealing with. I know a young guy who has a full set of dentures for that very reason. Apologize, run, cry like a baby, but do not fight a stranger in a bar if there's any other way out.

  2. Whenever I see girls fighting, they are usually the trashiest of the trash trash. Case in point.

  3. I don't think she slapped the guy who punched her on TV -- she was getting in his face and yelling at him from about two inches away, then he punched her out of the blue.

That being said, everything since has been a desperate cry for attention...or drama for the cameras.

  4. Eh, she's doing it for the camera. Look at all the publicity it gets her.

  6. In my experience (distant as it may have been), there were never any fights in the so-called "rough bars". The only fights I ever saw were in the supposedly upscale clubs, where privileged people drank too much and tried to throw their entitlement around. It didn't matter as much where we were at -- it was the company we kept that increased the likelihood that we would see a fight.

    Just sayin'.

  7. As normal as getting drunk, I would assume.

Every time I have seen drunken girls (and considering I live in the United Kingdom, world capital of binge drinking, that's a LOT of girls - a LLLLOOOOTTTT), there are 4 types of drunk skanks:

    - The Screamers: alcohol gives them such a sense of empowerment that they are as loud and obnoxious and in your face as they can.

    - The Emotional Wrecks: cry and screech at boyfriend, friends or random strangers.

    - The Comatose: pass out with their knickers down their ankles in a pool of vomit and piss.

    - The Fighters: alcohol brings out the inner thug in these creatures.

I say, in the orange one's case, she already looks repugnant and like she stinks, so this sort of behaviour does not help her cause at all.

  8. Calling all CDaN detectives! When we find out which bar this happened in, you all have to start going there for some Enty-spotting. Just look for the guy who needs the entire bar staff to bring his order of bar food and booze to his table!

  9. i dont think he is saying he actually SAW the fight.. but that he saw in the news that there was another fight.

girl fighting is very common. i've seen ALOT of them. i've also been in a few. and usually for good reason.

and i think its for the cameras. isnt there something going on with complaints about mtv and the cast of jersey shore in clubs because they are such a liability? and because producers are trying to induce these fights? it makes good television so im sure they egg on this kind of behavior

  10. Snooki, get with the program! She's not a whore, she's a prostitution whore!

  12. Oh Snooki. Your tiny Oompa Loompa ways never cease to amuse me. While I don't approve of her willingness to get in the faces of pretty much everyone with whom she comes in contact, I'd totally want her on my side in a fight.

  13. She's an attention whore and self-entitled...not to mention protected by the group she's with at all times, which gives her an over-inflated sense of protection.
I would say it's actually 4 fights considering I saw video footage of her and a guy throwing drinks at each other only last week.

  15. the guy that punched snooki was a complete dbag and yeah he lost his job over it (he was a highschool gym coach or teacher, something to that effect). anyway, she was getting in his face cuz he stole her and her friends' drinks (that's a good enough reason to bitch at anyone imo), he was being a jerk, she stuck her finger in the drinks and flicked it at him and that's when he punched her.

i've seen a few fights in my time, both at nice places and at the dive bars. i saw one chick fight where one girl got an 8-ball thrown in her face after hitting the other girl in the head with a cue stick. pretty violent. and i agree with sue ellen, mostly it's the trashy girls that brawl like that and it's probably over something pathetic like "stop lookin' at MY MAN, bitch!"

  16. Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but this is Reality TV. (Which I unfortunately have found myself working in ever since documentaries on TV went aways...)

MOST reality TV (not all - Hoarders, Intervention, Dog Whisperer, Deadliest Catch, among others, are all real and not set up) is fake.

Anything that is a docu soap, 98% probability it is fake. The Hills even has scripts - not written by "writers" though, God forbid. The shows are cast just like dramatic shows; casting agents, audition tapes.

The difference is, the "actors" who are cast are not talented nor do most have any training; they are just naturally good at improvving a version of themselves that is larger than life.

Ever wonder why you're reading on the news about so many former reality stars murdering someone, or raping someone, or embezzling something, or cheating on taxes, etc. etc.? Not at coincidence. Because this type of person - a wannabee celebrity who doesn't want to spend the time and hard work actually learning the craft of acting or any other skill that normally gets a person famous - this type of famewhore - is almost always a true narcissisctic personality. Some of them, apparently, bordering on sociopathic personalities.

Pretty sad, isn't it, that these are the people we are making rich and famous?

Just so with Snooki. Enty, I'd bet you a hundred bucks that Snooki had never been in a bar fight until Jersey Shore. The producers egg them on and steer them into situations in which there is going to be conflict. In all TV, conflict is drama and you gotta have it. Some of the situations are staged improvs suggested by the producers. Others are real situations that are either produced or edited to heighten the drama. And some situations, the action is real - but wouldn't have happened unless the show existed to put them into the situation in the first place.

The bar fights - now that these Jersey Shore kids are Reality Celebs, when they get into clubs amongst drunken assholes, the assholes all want a piece of their celebrity and the tensions rise. The Jersey Shore Kids are playing larger than life versions of themselves and so now Snooki has internalized her character of outrageous bar fighting Snooki. You know operant conditioning, right? Well, Snooki has been positively reinforced to become super skank barfight Snooki. She gets rewarded for her outrageous behavior by becoming more famous, getting higher pay from MTV, getting appearance fees, etc. So the more she becomes the Snooki character that is someone very different from the Snooki pre-MTV.

No accident that the MTV cameras "happened" to be there. The versions of Snookie, J Woww, The Situation, etc. that you see on TV didn't exist before MTV. Now these kids have become those characters, for better or (more likely) for worse. The more we reward them, the more deeply entrenched in those characters they will become.

  18. With as much as they each seem to take habitat in clubs and seem to enjoy fighting, I would LOVE to see a Snooki vs. Blohan club fight.

  20. I don't watch this show--but the cast members are everywhere on tv these days. I am not impressed with any of them--but especially this little orange oompa loompah with the poofy hairdo that makes her look even cheaper than trailer trash. She's annoying...so much so I want to punch her--and I don't fight.

  22. Excellent post, hunter.

I've never witnessed any bar fights but my brother was walking home from the Cubs game and a bar fight spilled out into the street. One guy pulled out a gun and shot the other guy, who fell on the street and died basically at my brother's feet.

Bar fights are stupid. You never know who has a gun and then you lost your life over something completely stupid.

  23. Hunter's comments make me think there should, or will, be a line of Snooki dolls. Guidette Snooki! Cocktail Waittress Snooki! Nail Salon Snooki! Tanning Booth Snooki! Super Skank Barfight Snooki! Collect them all!

  24. I'm proud to say I never worked on any Reality TV shows that promoted sociopaths...but I haven't retired yet...:-)

I wish television drama would rise again and these famewhore stars would go away already. I mean really. What did Kate Gosselin ever do except have kids that she now ignores because of her fame? Two books? Multiple series? Meanwhile people I went to school with who now have multiple masters and PhD's are starving college professors.

I love Robert's idea about the Snooki dolls. But then Snooki would have to get a cut of the profits. And that's just more reinforcement for her (and girls who watch her) to be a skank.
