Golden Globes
Several hours prior to the show, a death threat was called in about this A-/B+ list mostly movie actress who is a Golden Globe/Academy Award winner/nominee for the same movie several years ago but nothing else. The threat was taken seriously enough that she had a minder about 15 feet away for most of the night. She has the craziest stalkers.

I don't get it, I mean she is so non controversial. I don't understand why she has so many nutjob stalkers.

Ok, really, why does she have such nutjob stalkers? There's gotta be more to this story.
All stalkers are nutjobs. Seriously. Every.Single.One. People with stalkers need to take precautions, it's not being a diva.
How much of a loser do you have to be to stalk a c list actress not many people care about.
My initial thought is she comes off as (or tries to come off as) this very normal, I'm a weird, idiosyncratic person, just like anyone else. So maybe people with stalker personalities pick up on that as, "oh it's like she's speaking to me, we have a lot in common, she's the one." As far as where the death threats come in, it could be obsessed people who feel spurned by her, e.g. she's not responding to their constant attempts to reach her, vs. hating her from the start and seeing her someone they want to remove from the picture.
There were some old blinds about her that have some info on this in the comments (if you search in Google for CDAN and Anna Kendrick you'll likely find them).
The short version is she has 3 main stalkers:
- Legit paranoid schizophrenic in Mexico who likely met her on one of her many vacations down there and now thinks that he married "the real" Anna Kendrick who died and lives in his body. This AK is a robot made by Obama for sexual purposes. I shit you not, that's what he thinks.
- Rando dude that sends her gifts and is likely the one who makes these threats that pop up every couple of awards shows. It's why a lot of times she'll take close friends to shows or on publicity tours, so she isn't freaked out by the dude's existence.
- Twitter stalker PupKitDuckDeer who is likely a teen or early 20s woman who is your pretty standard Kendrick-Twitter-stalker but with a twist of thinking they are protecting her from other stalkers (including one they made up from whole cloth to cast aspersions on AK's boyfriend). So this one likely has a somewhat controlled mental illness since they seem restricted to Twitter. They also read this site.
The why is pretty straightforward...there are some very ill people in the world and sometimes they latch on to a person (not even just celebrities) and twist their own worldview into a knot over these people. I imagine for celebrities they get this a lot and I'm pretty sure you'll find someone who matches one of the above in a more-or-less form out there.

Because nutjobs are exactly that, nutjobs.

Not so much, it was just a topic of conversation on the board a year or two ago because there was a slew of Anna Kendrick blinds that one of the posters who is gone now was able to attribute to the stalker. They stopped right after he pointed it out so we knew he was right
Anna puts out a very "i'm normal" vibe, and I think she is very easy to connect with based on her social media. Thus, the real crazies can really delude themselves about having a relationship with her.

Lennon was extremely controversial.
That said, you don't have to be famous to have a stalker. Stalkers stalk because of a flaw in themselves. Some people see someone on the street,in a store, on the subway, etc and glom onto them.
