Seventh grade...so, 12? It was kind of expected...based on the past few years, I feel like that is the average age of the handful that I get.

Last year!

=)

Okay, I couldn't resist!

=)

We stopped trick or treating -- in giving out treats -- a few years ago.

Now, we leave the porch light off and ignore any random door bell ringing.

Stopped? That is my yearly sugar high.
Maybe the mechanical alligator skin should not be brought out this year.
Scared the dog so it still walks funny not a year since.

Probably around 13. One of the last things I did was made a Frankenstein's Monster head out of a brown paper bag. That was fun.

Halloween was never really celebrated in Australia until recently; so I have never trick or treated :(

I think Middle School - age 13. I remember the church youth group dressing up and we went out into the neighborhoods and trick or treated for UNICEF - remember the coin boxes? I remember someone gave a friend every penny she had in her house. It was hilarious.

Around 10. But really was never into it. I only did trick /treat because it was that type of neighborhood. Strange tradition and not very safe. Never enjoyed myself

Age 12. I was all pumped up to go out, but my father said NO, YOU'RE TOO OLD. Every other 12 year old was going out. I sat at home and sulked.

Two months later, my father told me to come with him so I could sit on Santa's lap and get a candy cane. I refused, of course. If I'm too old for Trick-or-treat, then I'm too old for Santa Claus. He was angry but I was still hurting from Halloween.

middle school. Although i think i went with my buddy's younger brother when i was a freshman for some reason... It was fun because we carried around real chainsaws (this was early 90s)...

Stopped getting candy for myself about age 9 but continued to take my younger brothers until about age 14.

I think 13. I still buy Halloween candy but I do t give it out. All for me and none for thee.

We were poor growing up. One year my mom made a ghost outfit from a pillowcase and put a trilby hat on me. So maybe 4 years old? I’ll never forget that costume.

This probably has a lot to do with where you lived and who you ran with.

Stopped at about age 12, but then I went once more when I was 17.
I was 17 and my brother was 15 when we were enlisted to make up costumes for our younger brother and sister and then take them trick or treating.
We came up with really cute outfits: little brother was an astronaut via aluminum foil and glittery disco-esque clothing that was popular back in those Dark Ages. He loved it. Little sister was adorable as a princess utilizing a lacy blouse belonging to mom and some carefully selected Christmas decorations made into a crown and also she got to put on make-up.
My brother and I carted them all over the neighborhood for about 2 hours.
We got home.
We asked for ONE candy bar apiece from their substantial stashes and both of them refused.
They were too young to overpower physically...LOL So we wanted candy and we decided to go get it ourselves.
All we had was a dog collar and a leash. We took off.
One of us would put on the dog collar and the other one would knock on the door with a LOUDLY barking dog.
We switched up every other house because it was brutal on the knees being the doggie.
Our neighbors laughed their asses off and we ended up with a bigger stash than our younger siblings because it was late and we were the last ones still out trick or treating so we got all the neighbors had in their candy stashes.
I admit we rubbed it in with our younger siblings for a while after we got home, but then we just piled everyone's candy into one big pile and we all enjoyed it.
The next year when we took the sibs out trick or treating the neighbors were all sad that we older kids weren't trick or treating, too. So we did do a lot of barking that year.
So. I officially stopped trick or treating when I was 17.

12 ...and I felt s little silly...as if I hung on a year too long. Kids now don’t care..they’re trick or treating into young adulthood. Weird.

Stopped the candy thing years ago.

Now just spend Hallo's Eve t.p.ing the neighbors, egging the local Democrat Headquarters and leaving bags of flaming dogshit on my ex's porch.

As my name is Michael Myers, I always seem to drag my carcase out there for another Halloween.

I think the last year I could go was when I was 12. I'm still pissed off about it.

Trick or Treating isn't countrywide. My dad was from east Texas. He never trick-or-treated. My grandson grew up in New Orleans. Same thing there.

I'm from Los Angeles. I stopped at 11. I give candy to everyone, no matter their age. I'm haunted by a little boy one year who said he loved when Halloween was on the weekend, because he knew he'd have something to eat even though school wasn't in session. I never turned away a child again. And we bought that little guy a burger.

14. Best ever Halloween party at my Middle school in the afternoon. Then trick or treat one last time. Last Mischief Night the previous night.
My College Halloween parties were the Bomb DiggityD X-D. If you saw the Die Antwoord's rock/rap film with the house party where party attendees were sitting on the roof top and you could see their legs dangling as Ninja and ¥olandi walk through the front door, that was me on that roof with my Mac Daddy Smurf housemate MikeD.
We had the L33ds pharmaceutical grade (hard to get)

Now, knowing my circle of friends....did you all quietly sneak up under his window at 2:00 am. and pull the starters of the chain saws.... Rrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooowwww and then hit the kill switches? Tell the truth and shame the Devil.

14. My friends and I went out every year but one day we went out, we watched all the children around and noticed that we were "too old for this".

12. That's the age where I learned it was more fun to TP houses than go trick or treating.

13... but 35 yrs later I'm considering doing it again in place of my children. Not to get them candy!!! but to go for a walk in a costume, load up on free treats, and say thank you to those few houses that are still dedicated to decorating and spending an arm and a leg on the candy that my spoiled rotten children can't even be bothered to go collect.
Anyone whom still decorates for Halloween, I sincerely love and appreciate the effort!!!!!! :)

oops.. 25 yrs later... getting ahead of myself. Pay attention to math, kids... lol

16. Dressed up as Sally from Nightmare before Christmas and really enjoyed it. I still buy a buttload of candy every year and eat it till I’m sick of it.
