Blind Item #1

After years of being the biggest supporter to a charitable organization and their spokesperson, this B+ list mostly movie actress married to an A+ list mostly movie actor dropped all of her support and her $2M annual contribution because they would not elect her as the head of their board. For the first time in a decade she was absent from their big annual event.

If Garner is B+ list it's her for Save The Children charity

No guess yet but whoever it is is a giant jerk and obviously wasn't as personally committed to the organization as she wanted people to believe. They'll hurt for the gift, but the non profit is well rid of her for sure.

I scrolled through a bunch of celebrity donor lists and I think Sandybrook got it. Garner is the only one that fits.

Rita Wilson has been known to say some snippy things about being Mrs Tom hanks.

I worked for a nonprofit that had some (albeit local) monied heavy hitters on the board. They can be ruthless about what direction the charity is going, what events to host, who to invite, how to invite them, whose name is on the committee letter head.
That said, it may be that this is a woman being denied influence that she should rightfully have (presuming she has some qualifications) within an organization.

I don't know- if she were their spokesperson and biggest contributed for 10y, that's being more than financially invested. Clearly, this person cared and had a meaningful personal investment. Maybe the reason she wanted to be on board was to help steer in right direction and not just be used for her face and checkbook? I can't judge this one at all, other than I would say that after a decade of support, this person probably has the right to have a real opinion and say. And I think the whole being head of board v board member is probably mostly gossip and untrue. The head of the board doesn't have more power necessarily than a voting member. If this person cared about titles, she would have demanded one a long time ago, not ten years in. Being the spokesperson is where there is the publicity, not being a board member. I'd say this means she were taking a stand for something she believes in, not just to fill a resume of accolades.
