Jennifer Lopez Is Too Big For Her Britches - Leaving Idol
Last year, after American Idol ended, Jennifer Lopez said she was going to leave the show, but it turned out to be a negotiating ploy and she ended up signing on again for a second season. This time though, Jennifer is really going to leave. She means it. The only thing that will change her mind is if someone from the show reminds her what her life was like before she became a judge on Idol. In case she can't remember, I will tell her.
She was married to Marc Anthony and her life consisted of supervising the nannies and saying good morning and good night to her kids. Oh, when Marc would play a concert and not be sleeping with someone and invite Jennifer she would be forced to go on stage and sing a song badly in Spanish with Marc. She would get callas about scripts, but they were for infomercials and not movies or television. When she did get a movie it was usually a Jennifer Aniston reject and would bomb twice as fast as a Jennifer Aniston movie.
Now, Jennifer says she is too busy because she has a record out which would only do well because she is a judge on Idol. She thinks she is a household name and that movie and television offers will come her way. Why? What makes her unique? There are lots of people out there who can actually sing and act and are younger and cheaper. Oh, and not divas. Jennifer should stay and ride the show down into the pile of dust it will hit in the next few years.

This is a negotiating tactic, she wants at least a dollar more than what Spears is being paid. Forbes named her as the #1 most powerful celebrity (replacing GaGA). Go figure.
I never understood JLo's popularity (among some) to begin with. As far as I can see, she's neither all that attractive nor all that talented. She strikes me as another one of those people who got incredibly lucky, and who's now badly misplaying the hand she was dealt.
I wonder if she got fired, and she is trying to save face. I would love to see Mimi on the show. Actually, it would be great to see someone like Simon. There is no is not one to tell the contestants the truth.
Don't be fooled by the rocks that she's got, she's still MV from the block. Used to have a little, now she has a lot: no matter where she goes, she knows there's a secret to run from.

My first thought was that she was saving face because there are rumors that she and Steven Tyler are being let go.
I cannot stand her. I absolutely and completely cannot stand her. She irks me like no one has ever irked me. I just don't understand why the world has not called her out on her murdering of innocent creatures for their fur for her clothing line. I watched a video from her actual farm where she gets the fur, and they showed how they skinned these poor little creatures alive and then threw them in a pile, leaving them for dead. I cried my eyes out. It was sickening. People who wear fur disgust me.
I also hate her whiney voice and her movies are just as bad as Jennifer Aniston movies. Jennifer A, Katherine Heigel, Reese Witherspoon and JLo. All formula, cheesey, stupid, love story movies. You know the ending before the movie even began.

I agree @Henriette...I never watched the show until this season, but now I watch it with my mother-in-law because she loves it....we were sitting there one night early on in the season and I'm going, "Why are they all saying they loved this person and they did a great job when they obviously did not?!" There is no one that will criticize the contestants. They don't have to be mean like I've heard Simon was, but just be constructively critical...would be nice to see, I think.
I miss the voice of reason on that show. Last night, Jessica Sanchez's first song was horrible. HORRIBLE! And they all gushed over her like she was the best thing since slice bread.
I know, I know. They are desperate for a girl to win. But this season has been boring and painful to watch. They got rid of all of the good ones before they even made it to top 12 and put in a whole bunch of young girls who can't sing.
I thought Steven was great last year with his off the wall comments and JLO is whatever. But this year is seriously bad. And Randy is a doofus.

I would bet $$$ that this is just a ploy for her to have lots of people say "Oh please don't go ~ We love you", then there will be haggling over $$$ and she will stay. She is enjoying the admiration far far too much.

JLo was on the tv on some commercial for a stereo system recently, and my DH was like, "don't you have to be musically relevant to be acting like you're all that?"

The judges drive me crazy too. Never ever do they have any good advice. They gush over every little thing. Ugh. Goodbye and good riddance!

MV was a blind item about a singer who did not sing on her records. Her vocals were done by someone else entirely. This is why MV is NOT J-Lo. She is not a good singer, but it is her voice on the records - just autotuned and sweetened to hell.

this is just typical jho/benny medina negotiation shenanigans. i think they need to step back and view things a little more objectively, and realize that jenny's recent 'rise' and renewed re-relevancy is due completely to Idol. she's been GENIUS in knowing how to capitalize on it (album, videos, univision talent show then winner's tour), BUT, they may be putting too much stock into it. idk how idol's production season rolls, but jho's peeps are putting a LOT of stock into the 2 month's worth of tour dates she's doing w/ enrique iglesias and wisin & yandel. it's an arena tour (15-25,000 seater...think staples & msg), and there's serious behind-the-scene haggle going on b/c she wants headliner status (when really, anyone w/ a pollstar or soundscan login can see she's not moving even a wee percentage of what enrique and w&y are)...so it'll be interesting to see play out...should be an interesting summer.
As much as I would love jlo to be mv it isn't - for reasons Maja said. however she doesn't have talent and she got too big for her britches after Selena ( which I love)

@Donner. JLo is already ruled out as being MV. MV will not be able put out another album and has stopped singing, because the real singer passed away and therefore, MV can't record any new material. JLo is still putting out new material and sings live if you ever watched her on youtube. Her speaking and singing voice are also the same and JLo is a no-talent. I promise. It's really her singing. Her voice is horrible.

I don't know why but I don't hate JLo. If she had of brought the huge diva act to AI, I might have considered watching it because that would be entertaining, in the same way Mimi's craziness would be entertaining. Maybe she realized AI sucks ass and is embarrassed to be associated with it.

I love those shoes but not with that dress. And you need loooong legs to go with those shoes. Charlize would rock the hell out of those.
MV's real voice died, but when MV started they didn't have the same kind of auto tuning technology they do now. There's no reason she couldn't keep making records, they'd just autotune it into submission now. And there would be extra incentive for the record company to do that if MV's popularity had jumped up recently, because, say for example she started as a judge on a hit talent show, got a divorce and a boy toy and basically came back into the public eye in a big way. You think the record company cares anymore if the real voice is around or not? They're going to keep making money.

to me the voice on "On the 6" sounds nothing like Jennifer Lopez her albums after sound like her an autotuned to death and all crappy.
The first album (and the best) was the one produced by Sean Combs.
I think this a money ploy also, she wants more than Britney and will play hard ball to get it.

Gee,I was enjoying this season! And while not a fan of jlo, i enjoy this judge panel. And where is she going? I dont think offers are piling up for her as they once did. Jessica wont win, no worries. Shes too young, and rushes the lyrics. Its either. Josh or phillips. Tough, both very good in diff ways. Guess we see tonite.

Lol...thanks Fufra. I didn't realize. I haven't researched her since the BV came out and she refused to sing on American Idol. She was the only celeb that appeared on AI that wouldn't sing, stating that she lost her voice since her husband cheated (which I felt was BS to me). I put 2 and 2 together, and after reading the hints...she was the only one that fit the bill. We should find out if she's actually recording the song with Lionel in the room with her, or if her voice will be recorded separately and mixed in. They did that with the Frank Sinatra/Duets album years ago.
@chop chop...I remember too that Enty had said U.S. born, but he may have said that to throw us off (though I could be wrong). I think he does that with dates too, to throw people off. It's juicy and I don't think he wants to get in trouble.

@crila - I agree, finding out exactly how they recorded the number would be very interesting. I always wonder with these duet albums, if everyone can be bothered by being in the same place at the same time.
I just listened to the song, and for what it's worth, sounds like what I expect Shania to sound like. But I know producers can be tricky little devils :-). Hmmm..I just love working these blind item puzzles!

Shania Twain also has a Vegas show coming up at Caesar's. It's a relatively small venue - not like a stadium or anything. I don't know how she'd pull that off with recorded music.
She and Skeletor have a show that is going to be HUGE south of the equator. If I was her I wouldn't waste my time on Idol either. She learned the ropes and now is using that talent on her new show. End of story. They must not be advertising the show in the states??? It's like in every single advertising break on every single show. I actually can't believe someone else didn't do this before them. She and Skeletor have struck gold, let me be the first to say it!
"Q'Viva! The Chosen" was on FOX and has ended.Is that the one you're referring to? If so, it received terrible reviews.

Jennifer Lopez would have nothing else going on if not for Idol. She performed "live" last week and it's ridiculous to think that this talentless woman is judging a TALENT show.
With that said, I'm available to judge next season of American Idol and every one after until cancellation.

I don't dislike JLo and I think that many times she is very spot on with her comments, but she could go and I don't think I would miss her. I watch it for Steven Tyler anyway. If he went, so would I.

Unknowns in the industry don't get hand ups by the record companies. 3% of the talent dollar wise carry the other 97%. Unless your album goes multiple platinum, you the artist dont start making any money.
Diddy saw her believable lip syncing for Selena and had an idea. She was already very popular, and people were seeing her as a singer, so they took the next step.
Ashanti has said on record she sang on the first record as demos, and was shocked when she heard the songs on radio sounding like her demos.
Her 2nd album was a mega hit (way bigger than the 1st *big clue*) and charted number one at same time as her movie was number one at box office. I would say this counts for "being everywhere" as well as the whole Bennifer saga. You could not pick up a magazine and not see her. She also has executive producer credit on her second album, that's very strange.
Her next two albums were called "This is Me and Rebirth". Could these titles be a clue??? I remember Kylie Minogue worked for years to improve her singing voice, why not J Lo too. And autotune by now has progressed significantly.

I feel sorry for JLo. She was wonderful and adorable in "Selena" and then she turned into a desperate love addict. I feel sorry for a woman who always has to have a man around. And sorry for her children.
There's no way in hell Idol is planning to fire her - they were expecting their ratings to plummet without Simon, and despite some problems, the current lineup has them still on top. They aren't going to mess with that.
If she has half a brain in her head, or hell, even an eight of a brain, this is just a negotiating tactic again. She is desperate for fame, and nothing will keep her famous like AI.
