Vanessa Bryant & Kobe Are Not Getting Divorced
Vanessa Bryant and Kobe Bryant are giving it another shot. I'm not sure why. She was getting half his money and was not going to have him cheating on her everyday. So, why put up with it? I'm sure the domestic help population is happy Kobe is going to be back in Vanessa's life because he was the buffer between Vanessa and pure misery for the staff. As for all the women that Kobe has been seeing? I guess Vanessa is probably ok with it. I mean if your husband cheats constantly and you take him back repeatedly, aren't you just saying it is ok? If you take him back after he allegedly raped another woman then you know you are probably never going to leave him.

He wants to keep all the money, she wants the fame that being Mrs. Kobe Bryant gives her. His bank account stays in tact, and she can be queen among the Lakers' wives. It's just that simple with these two.
That's no longer a marriage it's a business transaction, and Kobe is looking out for the bottom line.
She loses any and all sympathy. He could systematically rape and murder 25 women (in hypothetical land), and I would have an iota sympathy for her.

I'm sure the reasons are totally selfish, but I don't care because at least the kids will have their two natural parents present in the home and be spared the trauma of their family disintegrating which is a lot more than most offspring of celebs have.

I agree with nunaurbiz - he ADMITTED raping her in the civil compromise agreement which was released publicly. His statement didn't say the word RAPE, but it admitted all the elements. It included a public apology for not listening to her.

I married a gorgeous short man and I'm tall and curvy, so you never know how it's going to work out. I always dated older unattractive guys, and my husbands younger and fiiiine. We fell in deep love, it's funny how things happen. Valentine's day is bullshit, just go out with friends and find some other lonely people to hang out with. Not everyone's coupled up.

Im sure Ive mentioned before Im a super obsessed Lakers fan, and I love Kobe Bryant the BASKETBALL player. Anything else he seems like a total douche and she seems like a real bitch so I guess theyre perfect for each other.
And by the way, I don't, do not, understand how any woman -- or man, for that matter -- puts up with a serially cheating spouse. I can't imagine. Maybe if you don' love or even really like him/her, I guess. Then you'd be glad that someone else is taking on his/her shit, I suppose. But why stay married to someone you don't like? So much of life is mysterious to me.

@angel, I think divorce is better for kids than their parents staying in an unhappy volatile (and possibly violent) marriage.

I knew she was never going to join the first wives club. She has the best of both worlds now. The power of staying Queen of the Lakers wives. And she is financially set since he deeded over 3 homes to her and a pile of cash for a rainy day.

Hard to hate on a woman who seems emotionally stunted and used to be taken care of after her parents pretty much forced him to marry her or face accusations of stat rape.

@ABlake: Vanessa was 17 when they started dating, 18 or 19 when they got married. Kobe was around 20 when they first met and while I don't think he was forcing her into anything, legally speaking, it would have been statutory rape.
It's widely rumored that her mother always knew about the relationship and encouraged it, knowing she had the stat rape card up her sleeve if necessary.

Reno, I think it depends on which state you live in. Some statutory rape laws take a small age difference into account, some don't.
From my admittedly limited knowledge, it's more progressive states that have amended their laws to account for a small age difference. In former 'frontier' states (old-fashioned), like mine, the stat rape laws are more black & white...IMO because the 'taking' of a daughter's virginity 'ruins' her value to pass off as a wife. I'm NOT saying people still think that way so much as that it's more ingrained in the culture. That's just my opinion from growing up in farm country.
Please don't flame me...I love my state. But I can't deny the 'woman as property' culture that just keeps hanging on out here!
In California it's statutory rape if one of the partners is under 18, but not, IIRC, if both are under 18. Technically, I could still be prosecuted for "raping" my future wife when we were in college, because she was only 17 when we started dating.
Is that true about California? Because I thought they changed it about a decade ago. I have a lot of family out there. Thankfully no Bryants, Kardashians, or rapists.

The big problem is your 'consent' as a minor means nothing if your parents get mad at the guy. There are enough stories to wallpaper my house about parents who knew their underage daughter was having sex, but get mad about something else later and get the guy arrested out of spite. Like over car deals and stuff, with age differences of just 2 or 3 years. It's ridiculous.
