At the Billboard Music Awards it was apparent to all that were working behind the scenes that at least for one event a torch had been passed. The opening act was treated much better and had was given much more love and respect than the one named singer who is a permanent A+ lister. This was not unnoticed by the one named singer who threw a bunch of diva fits just to make sure people still snapped to attentions when she demanded.

Is this the Prince tribute that everybody hated? And Brit made a live performance return, so she would be loved, at least they weren't tonguing each other like the first time they did anything on the same shitfest.

Seems like Madonna's more wellknown these days for her custody case, her illadvised reconnection with Sean Peen, and her delusional choices in "clothing."

Britney was HOT in the early 2000's and her performances were ALWAYS talked about. But yea, definitely past her prime now.

Now I think a lot of people just feel protective of her after her breakdown.
Personally, I'm not ashamed to say I've been a HUGE fan of hers since BOMT and I love her music.
I think Madonna's recent music - hell, her music for the past 20 years - has been lame, but back in her prime she had some awesome songs: Like a Prayer, Like a Virgin, Open Your Heart, Crazy For You, Borderline, etc.

I was listening to Brit's greatest hits yesterday and Me Against the Music came on and I wondered what the heck happened to the Madonna/Britney friendship. They were doing a lot together - Kabala, Songs, Performances and the boom....nothing.
Same. I'm very protective of her because she came onto the scene when I was probably 11-12 and she was ALL I listened too lol. Probably my first REAL favorite singer. As I got older I'm not really a fan of her music anymore but she's still my girl. I still remember roller blading in my basement along to her song "Autumn Goodbye" anyone remember that song? lol it was like a single before BOMT.
Remember when Brit and Madonna kissed at the VMA's and it was the biggest thing ever? lol I just remember Christina Aguilera being all bitter cuz Brit stole the show.
I love that song! I never knew it was released as a single though. I first heard about her because I was a big Backstreet Boys fan and I bought one of their videos (remember video tapes? lol) and it came with a sampler CD of Britney as a new up and coming singer on Jive Records. It had "Soda Pop" and a few other songs on it.
lol we sound like we're probably about the same age! I remember when Britney, BSB, NSync and Christina all came on the scene, the good ole days of pop! haha
And I know it was a single, but it may have been after BOMT came out, I just know that i had it in a little paper case that only had that 1 song on it lol.
