would it sound superficial if i asked if all the head-banging could have hurt his brain? i'm serious.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible. There is an investigation into soccer players and dementia due to heading the ball, and many boxers have problems in later life.
DeleteAwful to suffer dementia so early.
RIP Malcolm ❤ Thank You for all the amazing riffs, keep on rocking with Bon wherever You are.
ReplyDeleteI'm telling You, God is assembling the most epic band in heaven, Malcolm, Scott, Dio, Lemmy, Bowie. That's an end of an era for rock though.
RIP, Malcolm. Thank you for the great music.
ReplyDeleteAbout ten years ago, a lady I knew was diagnosed with Alzheimer at age 59.
ReplyDeleteI thought then that, that was way too young to be suffering from that disease.
She died about a year later.
Sad.
What a sad way to go. R.I.P.
ReplyDeletethat's what i was thinking ms_wonderland, especially combined with drugs. so sad. way too young to die, period.
ReplyDeleteI saw them just once, on the Razor's Edge tour in the Point in Dublin and they gave such a good show! One of the two Aussie friends I went with said afterwards "Malcolm really drives the bus, (doesn't he)?".
ReplyDeleteIt was really true. Pre-Internet I had seen very little of bands actually moving until I got to see them live and the reality was sometimes different from what you might have expected. One of my big take-home memories of AC/DC playing was how strikingly Malcolm drove it all along.
Side-note - that was also the day Veronica Guerin was killed.
RIP, and yes, alcohol and head injuries can cause early onset dementia.
ReplyDeleteRIP, Malcolm. I'm happy I was able to see him play in the 80's.
ReplyDeleteNO!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw them in '79 during the "Highway to Hell" tour!
It was an amazing show.
This was during the "festival seating" era of rock concerts.
Everyone would press up against the doors waiting for them to open up
and a mad rush would ensue to get as close to the stage as possible.
I was close to the opening and up in the air off my feet, held up by the pressing crowd around me.
I turned around and in the distance walking across the street from the seawall to their tour bus was "AC/DC"!!!!!
Many years later I talked to one of the guys who was a local "fixer" that worked celebrity type events.
He told me that the cargo compartments had very little clothes and were filled with mostly ice and beer.
anyone know how angus is doing? dementia runs in families, and he was a much bigger headbanger.
ReplyDeleteRIP Malc. The constant steady hand in a band of a world gone mad. He was classic. Well done, pal. Well done. Thanks for the riffs.
ReplyDeleteRIP Malcolm. Your legacy will live on fella x
ReplyDeleteRIP. 💛
