...and just what's WRONG with Renfaires?!? Not to get all medieval on your ass, Ent*, but I've just gotten reinvolved with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) again after 20+ years away, and am having a terrific time, and I think Kelly's dress looks quite spiffy to boot. (The SCA, FWIW, is one of the biggest re-enactment groups out there, and covers the period from roughly 400-1600 AD. Go to and check it out--there's a lot to be said for gentlemen bowing, kissing your hand, and addressing you as "milady", I assure you.)
While we're on the medieval/renfaire subject, did you know that guitarist Tom Morello (formerly of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) used to be a lute-playing, tights-wearing minstrel at renfaires? Yes, really--heard that one from the horse's mouth about 5 years ago, and I'm guessing he was VERY popular w/the ladies while he was doing it. ;-)

I love Lily Allen, and I love the idea behind the dress (though I'm such a sap even blooddy Bambis on a DRESS gets me sad LOL) but she really REALLY needs to learn how to hold her liquor. The only person you should expect to see in a bowling alley is David Spade. He's all dressed up with no where to go. Oh, and please do something with the white circles under the eyes. They make Trachtenberg look healthy.

On the Renfest - hey, it's a great festival. We go every year. But it is a festival based upon wearing period costumes and recreating an era from long, long ago.
The outfits look great at Renfest. But if you are not at the festival or in a play - the look pretty silly. Just as silly as wearing a Roman toga or 1800 southern bell hoop skirts to the grocery store.
