Jon & Kate Have Some Competition - Six More Kids To Be Exploited

Usually you only see kids exploited one or two at a time so this whole multiple thing is really allowing kids to be exploited at a much faster rate which in this economy is probably a good thing. I mean, the only way this economy is going to get back on its feet is on the backs of our sextuplets and septuplets and octuplets. To show that they are willing to do their part for the exploitation of kids for the economy, WE TV is set to air Raising Sextuplets which as you may have guessed from the title is about raising sextuplets.

It involves the Masche's who I guess were the subject of some special back in 2007 when their sextuplets were born. Anyway, they say they are different from Jon & Kate and have learned from their mistakes. They also say they will quit the show if any of the kids doesn't want to do it anymore. Once you have wiped the tears away from your eyes from laughing so hard, they also said they don't want to think of the series as a paycheck. Laughing again?

Why else would you do the series then? You want to show the world what it is like to live with six kids? I think we all have a pretty good idea of what it is like thank you. I hate when people lie to themselves. They are for sure already counting the money and wondering what they have to do to get on the cover of Kneepads. I am already predicting that by this time next year there will be more families with multiples than ever before. They will all want the opportunity to make money and 99% of them won't. I bet there are hundreds of sextuplet births next year as people try and cash in. That is the problem with these shows. Sure, all these kids are getting exploited, but think about parents who only have kids for the money or possibility of a television show. When they don't get one or only four or five of their children are born alive as opposed to the 8 they were hoping for, what kind of life do you think those kids are going to have?

Honestly, they can't be "exploited" if nobody watches these shows.

So....who's really to blame here? They (parents & Networks) are just trying to make a buck.

Doesn't work if nobody watches.

This is so disgusting. Are any of these people going to help support the kids that are born with major health problems because their parents think it would be cool and/or profitable to have multiples?

That's a good point. I see another baby boom coming along.

What a scary thought.

Anybody who thinks these tv shows with little kids is a good idea should read about the Dionne quintuplets from Ontario. They had a horrific childhood from being put on display...not on tv, as it didn't exist then, but actually put out to play behind a fence where people lined up in droves to watch. It was crazy and really fucked them up. Go here to read about them http://www.quintland.com/

Some relatives of mine had quintuplets in the late 1800's. They only survived a short time, and family legend has it that they were "handled to death" by all the people who came to see them. Now they're in a jar in the Smithsonian. True story. :)

To be honest...I'll be interested when they have a show about identical sextuplets. Until then, it might as well be watching a classroom of 6 kids. Daycare workers handle this many 2 year olds on a daily basis, so what is the big deal?

Now...if someone had identical sextuplets or septs or octs and they were doing musical routines ala the Jackson 5, I could see the infatuation.

Identical sextuplets would be nice to watch. They could dress alike, become rambunctious and have the audience try to figure out who was really the culprit.

I think it's a really bad idea to put small children in a TV show like this. Look at the damage that's being done to those poor Gosselin kids. It's forever, your worst meltdown available for anyone to watch anytime of the day for the rest of your life. That is unless the internet goes away. A documentary every year would be okay I guess if the family needed some extra $$$ but this weekly show shit is crazy.

Remember the McCaughey septuplets? I gotta hand it to them--they have not taken any of the offers I'm sure they've been given for a reality show. And as I recall, those folks could use the money.

Ice Angel - right here with you. So what, 6 kids, it's a lot of babies but it just didn't happen without a little medical help. They see the ultrasound, they have a choice to remove a few. Get over it.

I have heard that Jon & Kate make somewhere around 50-75 grand per show. That's why they are cranking out 100 a year.

Somewhere in future a mom of 8 says to her child's question:

Mrs. Whosiwhatit: Of course Billy we had you for love.(crosses fingers behinde back)

Mr.Whosiwhatit whispers: Love of money but who's counting the small stuff.

My question in all this mess is how much money are the producers (or whoever)making sure goes into trusts for these kid.

There are plenty of families out there with 6+ kids. Oh, but they weren't born at the same time so they mean nothing to the public.

Mooshki, your post made me go "WHAT?!?" When you think about it - it must be very stressful for a baby to be passed from person to person on a constant basis.

Shakey, I'm sure there was no way they could have survived no matter what happened after they were born. No preemie care in the 1800s.
