The Bachelorette Is Moving To North Carolina

Emily Maynard is going to be the next Bachelorette. As is usually the case you either get yourself on Dancing With The Stars or get to be on The Bachelorette. I have a feeling Emily Maynard will be on both. The single mom was going to pass on being on the show, because she did not want to be away from her daughter, but the producers just decided to pack up and film the entire season in Charlotte, North Carolina. I actually like Emily so hope something comes of this. It won't of course, but there is always hope. I believe that Emily has the world record for most photos with NASCAR drivers to ever appear on The Bachelor. Being engaged (or not depending on who you believe) to the late Ricky Hendrick and having his child probably has something to do with that.

Ugh, this woman was so cold and insincere on her Bachelor season that I have no desire to watch. Surely there is someone else who could have been the bachelorette?!

I guess it's just me but I could not care less about the Bachelor or the Bachelorette shows. Same with Jersey Shore, Teen Mom and pretty much any show on ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox.

I was kind of surprised they went with her, but they obviously think a lot of her to move the filming. She seems like a nice girl & I'm glad to hear she wasn't willing to leave her daughter (again) for that extended time.

P.S. Enty, did you see where Trista Sutter said the blind reveal wasn't about her/Ryan but about some British couple (?).

I wonder why she changed her mind?

I think there's a barricuda somewhere under that genteele southern belle.

Seachica said...

@califblondy - there is under almost all the real genteel southern belles :)

@Seachica and cablond: I am an NC native living in CA by way of NYC and not to betray my southern roots (and I lived there til I was 30) but there is some truth to that. Of course it's like that in a lot of places now more than ever. By the way I grew up in CLT and I found it kind of boring. The triangle area is much more interesting IMHO.

I'm in NC and I spew the barracuda-isms here every single day. Southern belle m'ass

@Seachica & Brenda - Love it! Y'all made me laugh.

I knew a true southern belle, from her marriage to my husbands cousin.
She was all sweet and charming and smooth as silk. I was from the northwest, and loved her stories so I got a pass.
She could talk to someone, usually female and they'd be fifty yards down the road before they felt the knife between their shoulder blades.
She was from South Carolina. She and the cousin divorced and I must say I miss her stories she could keep me enthralled for hours.

Sherry said...

@del: Yep, that's exactly what happens. They are all sweetness and nice to your face but something entirely different behind your back.

RenoBlondee said...

She was slightly cold and stiff, but ultimately I found her to be a good person. Good luck to her,

Del Riser said...

@Sherry, she was a master of the "in your face, and you don't know what to say" maneuver.
We were at a table and she saw someone she knew..."Why Mah Gawd girl, look at youuu. That outfit is too sublime. It brings out the highlights in your hair and the lovely blush on your cheeks. The cut is simply stunning." Pause...
"Isn't it just wonderful that they are making stylish clothes in your size."
Dumb dazed look on the other person.
And on mine I might add,I had never seen anyone slice and dice another person with such seeming grace.

Sherry and Brenda, this is for you (or ya'll):
I am a guy who "works" clsoe to "Himmm" - well, for him actually. This one damn time he's letting me use this because of my relation to this item.

Back in 2004 I was living in southern Virginia when that plane crashed that killed Ricky H. and his fam. I was one of the emergency responders in a lil place called patrick county - and i worked that scene for 4 days and nights including helping the VA State Police load and sift debris and bodies. very sad.

The Hendrick family came to the site for 2 days. A pretty blonde chick was there too and some said she was dating Ricky. I was tasked to help with the family and assist them. Tragic cannto describe it. Broke my heart. Except for her. She acted like a spoiled total bitch even barking orders at family members (yes, honestly). But baby when those sat trucks and cameras rolled in she turned on the tears, trying to get interviewed. At one point she asked me if she could stand in the background of the cameras during live newscasts on WDBJ7 and WXII12. I lost it in disgust and left their camp, preferring to return to the mountaintop and haul debris down on ATVz.

It was the last accident I worked before moving to LA full time. Then when I heard about her and her fame? I barfed in my mouth. SOme said the baby is nto really rickys but the hendrick fam didnt ask for a paternity test just so they could cling to Rickys memory and this Emily girl took advantage of their pain. Just when you think youre jaded from shallow celebs (like thsoe who anon blog on celeb sites-lol) someone always stuns you more even.
Sorry to jump in like a total interloper here, and I promsie not to hijack Himmmm again.
PSSS- I think ya'll are all a riot. And if somebody PayPals me $25 I'll tell you who Himm really is- lolz.

mooshki said...

LOL, Himmm-jacker! Thanks for the story! I'd send ya the $25 if I had it to spare. :)

I can't stand the Hendrick family and by extension her. The plane crash is so overplayed every year when they go to martinsville

ablake said...

Thank you Himmmm's employee:) It's always a pleasure to read inside insight. Hollywood or not, she sounds like a complete bitchy spoiled drama queen.

I swear, reality tv shows us the worst of humanity while paying them for being rotten people.

As a born & bred Southerner, I must agree with the barracuda reference. Many Southern gals are cold, hard steel covered by smooth, soft silk. It's disarming and completely intriguing. As a writer, and as a non-barracuda (I hope) Southern girl, I find these ladies fascinating. You never know what bitchy thing all that hair is covering.

RenoBlondee said...

Thanks for the info Himmmm highjacker! Well, I guess my first impression of her was more spot on then I thought.
I'd also send 25 if I had it!!

Sherry said...

@Tara: Thanks for the back up. Seriously, as a southern girl I still worry that I won't fit in or be liked and I try and parse my words carefully to the point of not saying anything until I see fit. I never felt like I fit in there in NC because I am very honest with people. I just cannot play that "pretend like I like you game" and them talk shit behind your back. Even my mama does this passive agressive shit and it bugs me to no end. Give me NYC anytime where what you see is what you get.
Don't get me wrong. There are fake people everywhere but to hide your honesty behind being a sweet southern belle is totally bullshit. They should be the epitome of kindness and good manners. Too often that is not the case.

One last thing though, and I have been guilty of this..Telling someone in my best Southern girl way to fuck off and realize it's gonnna take them about two days to figure it out. Just like Del's sister in law...

HIMMMM....LOVED your story. That rocked albeit it as a sad testiment to this famewhore.

@Sherry
That is what I HATE here in E NC
I feel like I can't be myself AT ALL. It's soul sucking! I miss out west so fucking much.

Having spent 8.5 years in the south, I'm all too familiar w/steel magnolias, and not the nice kind, either. I concluded a long time ago that one of the differences between northerners & southerners is that the latter will be all sweet to you face and stab you in the back, whereas the former are more likely to let you know up front that they don't like, or else will just steer clear of you. Swear to God, I once had a woman tell me "It doesn't matter if you ARE nice, just as long as you ACT nice." Um, really?... (I also met plenty of lovely people as well, but I'd have to say the percentage of assholes is about the same no matter where you are.)

Nice to hear from you, Himmmm's employee (or should we just call you HE?)!

Barracudas, steel magnolias, iron fists in velvet gloves -- Not incorrect descriptions of some of us. Some of us were raised by consummate passive aggressive b'ches. In order to be sweet little girls, we had to learn to be manipulative as all get out so we'd never be placed in a position to not be the nice little girls that we were born to be.

And the meanness just seeps and oozes out because it's hard to be really nice when you're twisting yourself and everybody who counts around you up into as many tiny knots as possible. And you don't even want to think about what we can do to people who don't mean anything to us -- Those who don't "count."

Then some of us realize that it's hard enough in life to get people to understand what you really mean and want and what others really mean and want if everybody is dissembling their lives away.

So some people become pretty direct, and then guess what? A lot of times they don't fit in anywhere. But i think this happens in every region although it may be more prevalent in some areas.

Thank you, Hiiijacker, for your post. I've wondered what kind of person would leave a beloved child in order to go in front of cameras with a bunch of others to try to "win" a stranger's love.

Sherry said...

Oh gawd. All of you remind me of why growing up there was so hard. Thank you for not making me feel like I am alone.

A friend of mines husband was the eastern region mgr of a large steak restaurant chain. He hired mgrs. for their individual restaurants. He said when someone said (usually a man) that they were part time preachers he knew he was gonna have a pregnant waitress! LOL! Teasing. He just knew he was going to have a cheatin' liar. Oh the stories he could tell.

@Reno where do you live?

elspeth said...

Del, i may have met your husband's cousin's ex or "it" may have been one of its cousins. When i was paying for a dress at NM's, the person behind the counter raved about the dress and how it looked on me before saying "And you're SOOOO lucky because WE so rarely get anything in a size like THAT."

I'm embarrassed to say, but it was a 10; i can't help it if, at my best, i'm a 40/24/34 [but i'm rarely at my best]. I can have things taken in, but i don't walk around "busting" out of them.

As it happened, i was feeling direct enough that day that i replied that "Yes, i AM so lucky to have a job where i can pay full price instead of having a job where i have to wait for a sale, and then use my discount to get whatever's left over." Well, when it's bred into us, what can i say?

mooshki said...

Sherry, my cousin was married to a minister who was - guess what? - a cheatin' liar. So much hypocrisy out there.

brendalove@gmail.com said...

I don't worry about fitting in anymore, I just stay home.

@sherry & @elspeth - I feel the same way as both y'all do. How you act in public (nice, sugar sweet, and oh-so proper) is more important than how you act in private to a lot of people. I've always been a 'what you see is what you get', tactless person so I've found it hard to make friends. I say eff 'em. Now anyway. It was hard growing up.

I was born in Fayettenam too! LOL
Raised in Reno with a 2 yr Pocatello ID, then back to Reno, now here in Kinston/Greenville area, God or whoever help me.

I live in Toronto, but my mom is from Winston-Salem , and I still absolutely love visiting my family there. NC is really beautiful. My aunt is a Southern Belle, she's freaking hilarious. And also kinda racist, actually. Once she asked me "Do y'all have black people in Canada?" and I had to tell her that yes we do, but we just call them people up here.

Lelaina Pierce said...

^That is hilarious (and scary). ;)

@elspeth - Loved your post (so true about the passive aggressive b***hes!) & that NM story! Hilarious.

You eastern NC ladies need to come my way. I had to put up with that BS in high school and a bit in college b/c of the Greek system, but no mas!!!!
