The Jennie Garth & Peter Facinelli Split
On Monday I Tweeted that Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli were about to announce their divorce and sure enough, yesterday they did. This is one of the more sad divorces. Sometimes you really don't care if a couple gets divorced but after 11 years of marriage and being together for 15 or 16 years or whatever timeline you prefer which shows Jennie did not cheat on her first husband with Peter you kind of expected them to be together forever. Three kids and almost two decades you kind of have to stick it out don't you? I don't want anyone to be unhappy or miserable in their marriage, but I really wanted this one to last. Now, who is to blame? They won't say, but I will. Hello Peter.

Good for you, Mikey (I think). Sometimes it helps to hear opinions/thoughts from those who don't have a stake in the situation, as often, they can see things a lot more clearly.

Seriously though I think that when they got together he was totally unknown, and since then he has become the bigger star with Twi-nonsense. Can't imagine it hasn't gone to his head and he hasn't taken advantage of opportunities that he now has which he used to not have when he was only Mr. Garth/Taylor. An underage girl... when he has a approx 16 year old daughter... so gross. Just glad it wasn't a certain Ms. Bynes although at least she would be legal.

Awww, you're all so sweet! Many thanks for all the good wishes. You know it's bad when my children say they don't understand why I didn't leave years ago. I was trying to wait until my youngest was finished with college but she has only 1 more year to go.
@Sylvia - it was a combination of comments that make me look at my life and confess I was unhappy and life is too short. Other than my great children I don't have happy memories of the last 15 years.
He cheated on her. Its my Quantity of Temptation Theory. Basically it says that the more opportunities of temptations has, the more likely they will succumb to it.
In this case between the hot Twilight girls, the many fans (older teens and in 20s), his TV show, etc the he is exposed to a huge volume of temptation every single day. Eventually he rationalized it was ok and after that first step, it becomes that much easier to repeat. Problem with repeating is it increases the likelihood of discovery which likely happened here.
They've been separated for nearly a year and a half. He didn't "cheat." But, he also didn't want to stay married. Yes, this is sad, but they married young and got married, because she got pregnant. I think they tried, but those are hard circumstances, particularly in Hollywood. Before we crucify him as a philandering jerk, I think it's only fair to give them both credit for trying for many, may years and being committed to their children. And, to separating BEFORE exploring the dating world again. If you are unhappy in your marriage, isn't that at least the honorable thing to do? This is one split I'm not blaming anyone for.
