Well, Ben and Jen do have a couple of kids together, why wouldn't he want to be close to them? This blind is not juicy and I have no clue who Shook is and too lazy to google.
Is it possible the whole Affleck/Shookus thing is a scam from the get go? She's an accomplished professional, makes him look grounded after the nanny fiasco, but not attractive. Does anybody think this shallow horndog clown (in action?) is actually invested in this relationship? I do not.

Garner is the biggest doormat ever and her daughters are gonna be messed up from this whole long drawn out are-they-aren’t-they charade she wants to keep up. Her daughters will grow up with no self respect and treated like sh*t and be doormats cause their mother showed them that is normal.
Honestly I'm not even convinced that Shookus is a real name ;)

I always thought the Affleck/Shookus thing seemed more platonic than anything else. He usually goes for the attractive ones, and that she ain't.
Ben needs to take his beer goggles off. That chick is rather underwhelming but hey she may have other desirable traits! Jen is a cutie!

I think Jen is playing a great comeback game. She always seemed like “minivan mom” but maybe slightly standoffish, but since she got on social media she’s coming across as really quite funny and relatable. I bet Ben wants her back.
