Today's Blind Items - Trump Card - A Birdie Blind Item

At the center of this story is a former, mid-century child actor.

Several decades later, he was accused by three young male actors of molesting them in his capacity as mentor/coach. Why was he never prosecuted? He had a trump card: his own abuse, back then, by a major industry figure/founder.

It was never a question of if, but how much, as far as this subsequent figure (at the time) was concerned. He was there to protect the legacy of the accused, and the many, many people who benefited from it. In fact, a renaissance was in full gear. He wouldn't see that scuttled by some "nut case" with "multiple personalities."

This is to say: if you listen to his side of the story, none of it ever happened, or if it did the boys probably enjoyed it. As far as he was concerned, the former actor, and the boys were members of a certain underworld organization. It may or may not be fictional, but only men of a certain type are eligible for membership - he talked about it often, and in public. Some people thought him daft.

In any event, he believed that the actor - who had seen better times - was willing to face the worst kind of allegations just for a cut of the money.

I'm not sure who you'll believe, but if you look at the reason the actor became a former actor, basically, and ironically who is responsible, you may be inclined to believe the boys (all now in their thirties or forties).

I was thinking more along the lines of Tommy Kirk and Merv Griffin.

Tommy Kirk with Michael Eisner or Jeffrey Katzenberg protecting the legacy of Walt Disney during Disney's comeback in the late 80's/early 90's.

First time I heard about the Merv Giffin rumors. Saw the article where Deney Terrio accuses Griffin, then learned that Griffin set up a "village" for abused children.

Sheesh.

Jeeze, if it is Merv Griffin, I thought he was the head of the "good guy" pink/velvet/g@y mafia, with Ryan Seacrest as his protege...while Geffen was the sith darklord Emperor Palpatine head of the rival, evil pink/velvet/g@y mafia with Singer and some others as his henchmen.

@SDaly

The Merv Griffin rumors have been around forever. I remember reading about them in The National Enquirer during the 80's.
