Renters need places to live too and there are less affordable places to rent now than ever so maybe this is a kindness.
Nice passive income investment -- if they can handle residential tenants.
Or, just have a property manager handle the property.

she sold her place in june and bought this with her partner in july, where is she living now pregnant then? at his place?
