Christmas morning. When the children were small they always got to open one small gift on Christmas eve.

It used to be one present on Christmas eve. Now we open all gifts Christmas eve so we can sleep in because they are adults. On Christmas day we have brunch and then go to movies and then all make Christmas dinner together. The entire extended fam...sibs, nieces and nephews and parents choose a day for a day long celebration. Many years we spent Christmas (entire family) week in either Mammoth or Tahoe so we could all ski together

One on Christmas Eve. The rest on Christmas morning. Well, at least that's the plan. My wife was wanting to give our son his "big" present last night! She is out of control - lol

Gosh, bright and very early in the morning. The kiddies won't let us sleep in.

One on Christmas Eve, that's the rule. Then anytime on Christmas or after. Rules are important, otherwise it just turns into all the other drinking holidays. ;)

When I was little, we opened most on Christmas Eve and a few “from Santa on Christmas morning. Now, as adults, we open all on Christmas Eve.

When I was a kid we'd go to my grandma's house with the whole extended family and open all the presents. Christmas morning was for our Santa Claus presents, which were always unwrapped and under the tree. Then we'd go back over to Grandma's for Christmas dinner and play with our new stuff.

When I was a kid, we did Christmas morning.

Christmas Eve was the midnight mass. Needless to say, coming home at 1:00a.m. Mom and Dad were tired. We got to open our stockings as soon as we woke up, clearly just an excuse for us to let the parental units sleep in a bit. When they were up Mom cooked a special breakfast that always included those Pillsbury orange rolls--anyone remember them? OMG, what a treat they were to a kid--and only then after brekkie could we open gifts.

Here in Argentina you open the presents after the midnight toast, the night of the 24

There is no "holiday".
So many millions of our fellow Earth humans will be alone, lonely, shut-in, grieving a loss, freezing, sleeping in the back of a car, evicted, suffering domestic abuse, dealing with addiction, suffering with homelessness, or terminally ill.
When each and every person can enjoy the day in safety---- with adequate nourishment, access to safe water, shelter, medical services, education/the ability to grow---- then and only then, will I call it
"A Holiday".

Christmas Eve morning at home, Christmas day with the rest of the family. We did it that way when we had our daughter, because otherwise, she wouldn't have time with her gifts at home because we need to be at Grandma's by noon on Christmas.

@Daryl, You don't think suffering people like Christmas too? Go to a hospital and tell all the kids there that Christmas is cancelled because people hurt and see how they react. You'll be a real saint.

Don't get me wrong, if you had any solutions that would be really cool. But mostly sounds like the usual self-righteous virtue signalling whining often heard this time of year.
