Today's Blind Items - Sleepaway Camp - A Dancing Boy Blind Item

It was just about the first camp I attended - this one for actor kids in the mountains east of LA. It was where some of the abuse took place. I'm here to tell you that it is now owned by the Patron, and is undergoing work to stabilize the buildings in advance of our filming. We have reason to believe there are literal bodies buried there - bodies of children. (The excavation will be the subject, in part, of our forthcoming documentary, "The Dancing Boys of Hollywood: A Secret History.")

The construction crew has already stumbled on something as unsurprising as it is disturbing. There was a secret door to an equally secret closet adjacent to the head counselor's quarters. Found in there were the last of probably numerous videotapes - many of them from secret cameras in the showers and dressing rooms. All have been turned over to law enforcement. But I want to tell you about the sickest of them (which of course I haven't seen but have been apprised to the content of).

This camp used to advertise on LA area tv (and maybe elsewhere), but this was a different kind of ad - meant I guess as a sick joke for those privy. It's a parody of the ones that used to air for a certain children's charity back in the day. But instead of all the ice cream you can eat, it was all the drugs you could take (ie involuntarily, without dying as a result). It was also: all the abuse the men wanted. Who is I'm told featured being abused? A young actor known for a sequel, a mini-series, and a series - not in deep space, you understand, but deep somewhere else. This is the one who took his own life because of the abuse. And who was doing it? An actor who promoted the camp, who was fired more than two decades earlier by the legendary owner for abusing a young teen.
