What Is A Myocardial Infarction?

Longtime Jeopardy host Alex Trebek was hospitalized Tuesday after a minor heart attack, a spokesman for the game show said. Trebek, 67, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center late Monday night and was expected to remain there about two days for tests and observation, said show spokesman Jeff Ritter.

"Thankfully it was a minor heart attack," Ritter said. He did not give other details.

A post on the official "Jeopardy!" Web site said Trebek was "resting comfortably in a Los Angeles hospital, and he will be back in the studio for the next scheduled tapings in January." His heart attack was first reported by Entertainment Tonight.

The Canadian-born Trebek has hosted the syndicated show since 1984. He has won several daytime Emmy Awards for his work and has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

I just like how he is incredibly condescending and snooty and makes everyone feel like an idiot but at the same time completely recognizes that he does this and is willing to be completely self-deprecating about it which is great. If you have never seen him when he did the episode of Cheers, you need to see track it down on YouTube and watch it.

I met Alex Trebek years ago when he was in a commercial for my Dad's company, and he was honestly a really nice guy. He even told me he liked my shoes (I was wearing Doc Martens, lol) I always found that to be really funny. Get well soon!

Is he really all that snooty and condescending? I never got that impression, watching him on TV. And apparantly he isnt like that in real life, either.

I've been watching Alex host game shows since I was wee--I used to come home for lunch and watch 'Pitfall', a Canadian show (at least, I assume it was--the biggest prize you could win was a washer/dryer, if memory serves...).
