I hate He Said/She Said cases because generally both sides feel they are right and the other is wrong. Such is the case involving Rob Lowe and the nanny. Her name is Jessica Gibson and she started working for the Lowes when she was just 17. Now 24, she has Gloria Allred has her lawyer. Enough said. You know she is going to be on television everyday and then somehow end up in Playboy.
She claims that Lowe groped her or fondled her "several times" over five year period. I kind of believe her. I really believe her when it comes to the allegations she made against Rob's wife Sheryl. Jessica claims Lowe's wife would walk around the house naked, make vulgar comments, and would discuss her sex life with Lowe to the nanny.

To me that's believable. To make this all more interesting, Jessica's older sister also worked as a nanny for Rob for seven years and is one of the people Rob Lowe sued last week.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lowe was a perv and his wife a bitch, but this girl had nothing to say - Allred kept talking for her. Between that and the messages she left saying she loved the Lowes and wasn't leaving because of them, I don't think she has a leg to stand on.
Jessica is sitting through the interview smiling looking like a total airhead. She DOES NOT appear shaken or traumatized. She's happy to have her 15 minutes of fame.
Rob Lowe lives in my city, and he is strongly disliked. Not hated as much as Oprah is (I don't think anyone has every been as widely loathed as she is), but he is not popular. He has always behaved as though the rules don't apply to him, and he is best known locally for currying favor with influential people to get him exceptions to all manner of things. His wife is even less cared for than he is. This is a city full of billionaires and celebrities; his poor standing with the rest of the population isn't based on jealousy over his wealth or position but firmly on his personal behavior.
As the others have remarked, Jessica doesn't have much to say and doesn't seem to upset about her situation. I tend to suspect there is some truth to both sides of this story. I've been sick of this sordid tale for some time now; I hope they settle out of court and go away. Gloria Allred is a nighmare and a half; I don't want to see her on TV every day for the next three years while this is dragged through the courts.

If they do decide to handle this out of court Lowe will have this mark on him forever. Just like Michael Jackson has been marked forever.
Further to what Reese said above, I heard that Rob built a second story on his house and totally blocked the ocean view for all of his neighbors (very much like in the movie "Friends with Money." That is one of the reasons why he is detested.
Don't forget that he had that mark against him in the sex tape with underage girls. And then he got married in a big hurry to santize his reputation.
One more thing -- the pervy behavior does seem to follow him -- old behaviors die hard?

ok so her older sister was a nany for them first? and if it was sooo terrible why would you bring your sister on board?
and even better why would you stay in a job for 4 years if it was so terrible? waiting for the payout?
both those things to me say she was sticking around for a reason.

Between the text messages she sent, and the fact that she stayed so long despite his alleged behavior, she doesnt have any credibility whatsoever. For all we know, she could have LOVED that he was giving her attention...I mean after all, she did stay seven years....
Grace - Rob Lowe wanted to build a 14,000 square foot addition to his place, which greatly exceeded the local zoning laws. Rob did some sneaky maneuvering with the right people and got the approval for the addition; this in a city that is famous for approving very little in the way of new construction and has zoning laws so stringent they could be called fascist. Santa Barbara is an old money town; conservative and quiet; it is very unseemly to behave the way Rob did. His next really tacky move was to scream bloody murder when the local newspaper covered the story and printed the address of his house in it (standard practice, and the house is behind high walls and a gate so it isn't as though he'd find looky-loos on his doorstep). He couldn't have shot himself in the foot with greater skill or accuracy; at this point the best thing he could do would be to leave town, but I don't think we're going to get that lucky. The old families pretty much shun the Hollywood crowd socially anyway, but Rob has pushed things to where he won't be invited to anything again, ever.

Exactly, Jax. I mean, I've had jobs where I felt sexually harassed and immediately went to my supervisors (not that she has one, but she was still responsible for her own damn self). If you DONT LIKE IT, you WONT PUT UP WITH IT! Period. She probably got a little thrill out of his attention, but doesnt want to admit it. She probably felt powerful and more attractive than his wife, because of the attention. Now she wants a payday because its easy. Hell for all we know, she could have just been WAITING for the day when she could open her big mouth and make a huge paycheck.
I really like that Gloria immediately did the "OH LET ME SPEAK FOR HER" when she was asked if she ever asked them for money - which tells me she DID ask for money and Gloria knew that she couldn't let her answer that. And how she did the total "I'm speaking for her, the poor dear" act by holding her hand in her lap which makes it look like she's literally defending her by having more of her body in front.
But because Jessica had that sh!t-eating grin on her face the whole time, it came across as more of a complete lie, kwim?
I don't doubt she might have gotten some unwanted attention - from either being embarrassed that the wife was a little too comfy in her own home (maybe even being nude) or embarrassed when her attempts at flirting with her bosses didn't pan out like she hoped.But I don't think the story is just as she's portraying it.
