The dresses were overall kind of underwhelming but there were a few that really stood out. I liked Claire Danes, Elisabeth Moss and Edie Falco a lot out of these ones. Christina Hendricks is a gorgeous woman but sometimes she needs to downplay the boobs just a little bit.
ReplyDeleteI know it's already been pointed out, but that is definitely Nina Dobrev. Understandable mistake, though, as they do share a resemblance, and if you don't watch The Vampire Diaries, she probably isn't on your radar yet.

ReplyDeleteSo far as the Nina Dobrev error- when I was double checking (since they do look alike) I found that Getty images had said it was Emmanuelle. Apparently everyone was just confused.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go against the grain here, but I really like Christina Hendrick's dress. I love the color, and it highlights her assets without being over-exposed. It's also an improvement from the black she's been wearing so much lately.
ReplyDeleteClaire Danes looks lovely, but her dress is just kind of boring and shapeless to me.
I like Elizabeth Moss's dress, too. Emily Deschanel looks lovely, but her dress looks too much like a purple-thatched roof in Suess-town.
John Krasinski looks like a young Andy Griffith in that picture.

ReplyDeleteElizabeth Moss looks stunning. There's nothing more triumphant than looking dazzling after being dumped. I'm sure Fred Armisen is in agony.
ReplyDeleteClaire Dane's dress was gorgeous. Am I the only one who thought her make up was atrocious? She looked fine on the red carpet, but when she gave her speech, I just wanted to get her some cold cream and give her a fresher face.
I don't get it. Christina Hendricks' alter ego on Mad Men dresses phenomenally, yet in real life she looks so drab. Why can't she get some tips from the show's stylists?
Loved Claire Danes' dress. She was the best dressed of the night. It was simple, flattering, and fit perfectly.

ReplyDeleteUGH! Hendricks is always trying to show off her bountiful assets. Not a problem, but at least pick a pretty dress. She looks like she is getting what's left over at David's Bridal.
It's a hard line to toe when you have an extra-bountiful bosom to wear something that doesn't make the rest of you look as big as you boobs. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Blunt's look last night. The color of that gown just looks washed out and lifeless, and the adornments sewed on to look like petals look more like she's being swarmed by cabbage moths.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with Claire is that you hardly ever see a genuine smile from her. It makes me not like her.
I thought Hendricks was beautiful. She just glows!
Danes' makeup -- and some of the other actresses' -- started to look shiny towards the middle of the program. Maybe the producers should have their key makeup artist hire more staff for backstage touchups. They certainly spent enough time on the host.

ReplyDeletePretzel, I have to agree. Emily Blunt's ress looks like she has been attacked by angry butterflies, who have taken her dress hostage. And the do look like a prom couple, not like a couple who have just gotten married.

Gah! Emily Blunt's dress is hideous and worse: makes her look frumpy and fat. I love John Krasinski but I'm over that hands in pockets, awww shucks pigeon toed stance.
Emily Deschanel dress looks like it's made from party streamers.
