Norwegians Take Punk'd To A Whole New Level

The Norwegian television show, Gylne Tider, pulled off a trick worthy of a Borat or Bruno movie. The show convinced the most random set of actors, actresses and singers EVER to sing Let It Be in a We Are The World type thing with a variety of green screens in the background. They told everyone it was for charity, but David Faustino says it was not. None of the other stars, nor the television show itself will give the answer. In just a few days though, the show managed to get stars like Glenn Close, Jason Alexander, and Roger Moore to all participate. Of course it might not have even been for the charity. Maybe the television show was offering free lefse and lutefisk. Well, not the lutefisk.

When I saw Tonya Harding I stopped watching. Too bad cause my heart leapt when I saw Co-stan-za.

Oh Jason Alexander. You are so cute.

score one for the Norwegians! now if only they would up their own ante, do a classy move and actually donate $ to charity in their name...that would rock...after they paid the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the song's rights, of course.

Definitely out-Brunoed Bruno! There's a 'We Are the World' version too, with even more random celebs. Link

This is officially Ryan's Best Day Ever. :)

I saw this over the weekend. It is the most bizzare and funny thing I have ever seen.

You have these A list actors up against D-Z list people.

I know there heart is in the right place but some of these z-listers. Hello Tanya Harding never looked so thrilled to be on camera again.

Celebs love to be on camera first what the charity is or isn't really doesn't matter to them.

Usher has already broke the Digital Death and has started tweeting again. I guess the dum dums didn't realize how long it would take to raise a million dollars. Fame is much more important than saving a child.

He did? Wow Usher, that is super classy... Surprised KK didnt break it first.

This is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. I wish the show this is promoting was in English cuz now I really want to watch it. I guess the few A listers could raise a fuss if they really were tricked into it, but everyone else should be sending their publicist a gift basket cuz I haven't thought about some of these folks in decades and now I am.

It's seriously brilliant. So, it's a joke on the celebrities? Now it makes sense!

I thought this was shot in 1994 to promote a new TV channel in Norway?

There are some celebrities in this who are now dead...

What a schmorgasboard of forgotten celebrities!! Milli Vanilli!?! Woot!

Well, joke or not, I enjoyed that!

I guess I don't really get this.

If they tricked the celebs into singing something like "I Touch Myself" and told them it was for breast cancer self exam awareness or something and used it to promote their show instead, ok I think that's a funny trick and I get it. But, to "trick" them into singing a beautiful song like "Let It Be" IMO just backfires on them because it's too beautiful of a song to really get a laugh at.

Am I missing something?

@chihuahuense: Boy George, no less!

@Robert-was it? Dang, I need to listen again.

@Chasing Heaven-yeah, I didn't get the whole joke part either.
