BuzzFoto Blind Item

This “Vegetarian” Television actress constantly criticizes her cast mates and lectures them on eating meat. She then goes back to her home and spends thousands on ‘rodent control.’

Rodent control?? That's plain nasty, vegatarian or not.

Enty, I would really like you to address the radio situation today. I didn't donate toward it, but would like to see the people who did offered an explanation. Even if you are trying to find a new home for it, just an update would be nice.

Kill the rodents!!!! Beyond gross, a health issue and you wouldn't eat the damn things. ***Shudder*** : (

Get a bunch of cats ya hypocrit. I'm thinking Alicia Silverstone?

Sorry, maybe I haven't had enough coffee this morning. Does this mean her tax preparer's office squealed that she's buying meat and reporting it under a budget line called "rodent control"?

caralw said...

Anna Paquin? Emily Deschanel? Julia Stiles?

Don't think Silverstone has a current show.

Why is rodent control hypocritical? It's not like she's eating them. And if she lives in NYC then it's also totally understandable.

HannahPalindrome said...

I guess she's preaching about killing living things, and she goes home and kills living things.

Whatever...

Is this FishStick?? lolol

There are cruelty-free rodent control methods, and non-kill methods. Huge blasts of loud sound at high frequencies, for instance, or no-kill traps -- the problem then is that you have to release the rodents somewhere else, where you just end up hoping they survive (while hating them in your heart).

Maybe the veg-actress should look into that, if she hasn't.

On the whole "hypocrisy" thing, two observations: the word hypocrite is the Greek word for actor, so duh. Secondly, some people are vegetarians because they do not think that corpses are appropriate food items -- it might not be the result of "oh, the little tender animals, so innocent, so pure" ideology.

What Barton Fink said.

What kind of person has a crazy infestation problem where they need to spend thousands, anyway??

A person who has a large house, or even small house, and travels lots. Don't ask me how I know this...... Cats are NOT an option!

could rodent control = wearing fur?

I love rodents! Especially rats. They're incredibly smart.

Such a weird blind item from BuzzFoto. Anyway, this is not Lea Michele. She is vegan, not vegetarian, and she doesn't lecture her cast or anyone about their diets, she only asked that a cake they gave her be vegan and that a few choices were added to the catering table.

If it's rats, from what I understand those little buggers can be very hard to control because they multiply so quickly. I'm getting the ickies just thinking about it so I'll stop now.

RocketQueen said...

Me, too, Tempestuous Grape! A friend of mine has two pet ratties and they are the CUTEST things evaaarrr!

Lea Michele. Yeah I know she's vegan but some people don't know the difference. Some people don't know what a vegetarian is and thing fish is a suitable meat replacement...*L*

@ Cecilia00, I didn't donate to the radio donation either, but I did donate a couple of years ago for the Amber Tamblyn book. You know what, I would have donated for NOTHING, I love this site. I still am a little miffed that ENTY didn't explain the first donation, but I still come here every day many times. I wouldn't expect an explanation if I were you.

Methinks you guys got swindled. I've heard this has happened before.

Anyway...I'm putting my bet on Emily Deschanel a.k.a. the inferior Deschanel sister.

This is not unlike how the authors of this blog speak often of their love of bacon, but the freaking ads in the margin are always these horrific anti-meat campaigns.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

@Maggie -- in all fairness to Ent, this blind is from a different source, but I TOTALLY get what you mean.

The whole bacon craze in general drives me insane. Bacon on salads! Bacon sprinkled on soups! Bacon on doughnuts! Bacon bread, bacon beer, bacon cheese, bacon bacon baconbaconbaconBACON. Wow, I wonder why throngs of Americans are grossly overweight and have skyrocketing cholesterol? HMMMMMM.

Okay, I'm done. I also admit that bacon tastes delicious. It's been a long time, but I know.

However, I refuse to feed my cats a vegetarian diet (seeing as how they're carnivorous and all), and I definitely purchase meat products. This might make me a hypocrite, too. I've spent some time pondering this, in case you can't tell. :-)

The sugar cured bacon at Clinton St. Baking Company is amazing!

Try it with the blueberry pancakes!

RocketQueen said...

@Ida - I, too, am so OVER hearing about bacon this and bacon that. And I don't think it's just because I'm a vegetarian. I felt the same way about Betty White there for a while.

Cats are carnivores, and to not feed them meat, would, I believe, be tantamount to cruelty. However, I have a lot of veg friends who have their dogs on vegan diets and they do very well.

Robin the Mad Photographer said...

Ida & RQ--cats are obligate carnivores who HAVE to eat meat. Dogs can manage on a vegetarian (NOT vegan) diet, but cats will become terribly sick if you try to make them go veg. This doesn't mean they can't have veggies, fruit or grains at all (although I know some kinds aren't good for them), but they do have to have some kind of dead critter with it. It IS cruel to force them to live on a diet that doesn't provide them w/what they need.

Oh, yeah, & a friend of mine raises pet rats; rat babies are just the cutest little things! If I didn't already have a cat, I might be tempted to get a pet rat...

Rodents can carry diseases. She isn't exterminating family pets.

Rose said...

I think the point is vegetarians don't kill animals and find humane ways to dispose of things.

The Nightmare Child said...

@Ida & RQ - Ok, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's over the whole bacon craze. I enjoy a bit of bacon once & a while with breakfast and I LOVE it on a burger...but everyone fetishizing it is pretty lame.

hunter said...

Screw you bacon haters. Bacon ROCKS.

Maybe the actress is a vegetarian for health/vanity reasons and not for animal rights? In this case, I'd think that she wouldn't care about animals dying or suffering.
