Hi, gang. This is a test post, really. I've been visiting CDAN for quite a while now, and I do so mostly for the comments. This is a funny, smart bunch. So, I decided to stop lurking and to start joining in!

Aw, thanks, linnea! I especially appreciate how most everyone here is kind to one another. I see a lot of folks with differing opinions agreeing, respectfully, to disagree. I lurk around a few other gossip/news sites, and the commenters seem to be getting nastier. This place is refreshing. Well done!
@Mel - Welcome to the club, and it's true, we have the funniest, mostly respectful bunch, with a very divert background. Makes things lively!
Rita! You're one of my faves (linnea, too!). Yes, it's a tolerant group, and already I feel so welcome. ... It bums me out when I read so-and-so left CDAN because of hurt feelings - I can't help but think, Wait until you see what some of the other sites' commenters are like!

As for the likable CDANers that have left, I'm hoping they are simply taking a break and will come back. I guess what gives CDAN a betters sense of community, is that while all have their opposing opinion and debate, even vigorously, most like engaging others in discussion (notice those who only post their opinion without reading others' don't come back often), and know where to draw the line respectfully, and for some, with an outright Hilarious sense of humor (looking at you Vicki Cupper and LMSM). There were 2 moments when I felt part of the community. First is when a poster had been gratuitously rude, and while I was pondering my reply, well there came down RQ and her posse on his/her ass. In the most polite matter! thanks RQ and Al.
The second, is quite hilarious, be close to a bathroom while reading, for you might pee your pants. Here is the link, read the comments 'till the end:

That's how you contribute on keeping this a fun place to post. Unfortunately I wasn't commenting or reading the day in question, when RQ has had it, so I can't say. But a pregnant lady can do without the drama at times, and needs a break. Hope she comes back soon.

Isn't that what happens anyway in a group of people with daily contact? All of a sudden, they start taking after each other, and become a more conglomerate unit.

@Mel, this is a great place and I've found that I agree with most of the commenters here - that's why I started commenting. Maybe "agree" isn't the right word, what I mean is that you can actually talk to people here without a lot of the crap you have to put up with on other sites. I love the readers here, and I've loved seeing their faces!

I have been on this site alot I spend hours every day and that's prolly not healthy but I lost my job in October and it was a blow. This has been a welcome diversion and makes me feel like I belong to a wonderful community. Silly I know but sometimes it's little things like that that can turn you around.
Like Rita, I do hope Ida and RQ come back and keep reading Vicki..She is freakin' hilarious. Jasmine was on a roll the other too.
