Cynthia Nixon Gets Married

After eight years together, Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni got married over the weekend. Its always questionable when you get that long into a relationship whether you will ever get married. At some point it just is easier to live together. Obviously Cynthia and Christine have not had the opportunity to always get married which has played a part, but still, you do wonder if that piece of paper is going to change their dynamic. The couple had a child together last year and Christine had two from a previous relationship. I think it's great they got married and really, getting married on memorial Day weekend sure beats hanging out in your car for hours on end trying to drive to the beach. When I was little we used to to go somewhere on Memorial Day weekends. Then one year it took ten hours to get somewhere that would normally take 5 and my dad said never again. The next year when I asked whether we would be going somewhere with a pool or something fun he said, "Outside is a hose and a sprinkler. Have fun. Use all the water you want."

Good for them.

Oh, and Enty, I think you meant Cynthia had two from a previous relationship, not Christine.

I've been with my husband for 22 years. We got engaged nine years in and got married on our 12th anniversary. My point? We don't have to judge everything.

It could be 115 outside and when we'd ask for water, Mum would say "turn on the hose." Ugh, hot water from the hose.

Thanks for reminding me.

Cynthia was with the father of her children for many years--she said at one point she "loved him too much" to marry him. I remember that just because it struck me as strange. Hopefully that doesn't reflect on her current relationship...

Having the freedom to get married to the love of your life- whomever they are and whatever gender they may be- seems like the PERFECT way to honor and memorialize those who have served our country. If that aint celebrating freedom of choice/expression, I dont know what is ;-)
