That was the popular guess, so praying for the Queen!
Why would you reveal this? You sit, protecting pedophiles, rapists, abusers, drug addicts, theives and total Hollywood scum, but choose to reveal someone's struggle with life and death?

Really, if she's trying to keep a lid on it, who are you to reveal this? The Enty I used to read had some respect. Now all I see here are stolen blind items and reveals that are either run of the mill or disrespectful ones like this. pathetic.

My husbands best friend has a sister and was told the same thing about her stage 4 cancer. That was 2 years ago and now there isn't a trace of cancer. I hope Aretha was in the same experimental program, if that is what it is she has.
That is amazing. My best friend lost his battle to cancer five years ago. The experimental treatments he went through, "cured him"! All better! For three months he got to travel and go on a farewell tour to see all of his friends. The treatments were actually masking the symptoms of his tumors. They didn't know until he tried to get out of bed one morning and couldn't walk due to a tumor on a spine. He passed a month later but I hope that treatment has been honed and studied and can help others with cancer.
I hope she makes it. She's amazing.
She had to cancel some shows a few weeks back. These were the rescheduled shows from last years cancellations.

Not to deflect from Aretha, but I hope Valerie Harper can find (or maybe HAS found) some kind of similar treatment. Her diagnosis has just haunted the shit out of me since she announced it this spring. I literally pray for her as though she were family.

@cara, it's only a HIPAA violation if the disclosure was from a medical provider or covered entity under the law. If someone shares their PHI with friends or business associates, they're free to blab (maybe not morally but legally).
Ruined my entire day, damn.
Noone like aretha. She's had such a rough go at life. No matter what, I wish her some peace.

She actually survived pancreatic cancer for 3 years, which is veeeery long for this kind of cancer. Most die within the first 6 months.
Be that as it may, I really hope the treatment works and will be available to a lot more people soon.

Why was this a blind? Why not just report it at an appropriate time. So sad.
Oh well, to put this site in perspective, I just got a call from my son telling me his good friend's Mom passed away this morning at 46 from Ovarian cancer. 2 weeks ago she was posting on Facebook that she was looking forward to some upcoming events. So sad. Two teenage sons and a husband left behind.
How sad. Yeah, she cancelled all of her Canada shows this summer at Jazz fests and such.
