This A+ list mostly movie actor with A+ list name recognition has discovered a new hobby and it is not paying off well for him at all. The actor, who has been known in the past for diving head first into things without thinking about them has spent the past few months gambling several times a week and has suffered losses of several million dollars. Apparently he has not made good on the debts because he does not have access to his money directly and needs to request it which he is reluctant to do.

Wasn't he bankrupt some time ago? This dude doesn't learn. I like him (in a straight way), but he is not the sharpest dude.
Why is this surprising? The guy paid over $1m for a dinosaur egg.

There is a history of certain drugs, for instance for treating Parkinson's Disease, that trigger uncontrollable behavior. Some examples include sex, shopping, giving all your stuff away, and gambling. It seems to me that Nick has some of that imbalance running around in his brain. It is so sad. He has worked so hard, and had such talent. But who can save you from the kwazy? Apparently he needs a minder and a leash!! Really really sad.
It's sad that someone who made that much money blew it on all kinds of nonsense. Hope all his taxes are paid up.
Why does Enty say A+ list actor with A+ list name recognition? I would argue that every A+ list actor has A+ list name recognition, right?
I agree Wahoo. But for the record I don't find him all that talented. I have never understood his appeal.
so Nicolas Cage,Mel Gibson and Ryan Reynolds are A+ list mostly actors now so what are RDJ,Pitt or Dicaprio for example?
Gambling is a tough hobby for a narcissist. When you think you are smarter than everyone in the room, you think the next hand is when you will prove it.

I worked in an addiction clinic - gambling is just as all encompassing & difficult to kick as heroin. It's all about secondary gain. I hope he's getting some help. He's obviously trying to fill some void and self medicate.
I can't stand to watch anything current of his, but his role in Leaving Las Vegas was the best thing he's ever done.
Obviously, they all are A+.In the new media age, if you can sell tabs and mags, get the big clicks for blogs, that means you are A list, and if the planet knows who you are, then you're A+.
