Today's Blind Items - Very Bad Things- Anniversary Month

I've heard this before, and allegedly Very Bad Things is loosely based on it to some extent. However, I always thought of it as a Hollywood legend until I recently met someone in the producer's family. When I say family, there is one widow and one child. No other family. None.
A fairly minor producer died within the past month or so. It wasn't really noteworthy for the most part, but there were three or four very happy actors to see him pass. All of the actors are aging, but not George Burns old or anything. In fact, they are still A list at least by reputation. Could they carry a movie OR television show on their own anymore? Probably not. Are they regularly in movies AND television? Yes. See, back in the day there was a party like you could only have in Hollywood's glory days. Martinis, cigars and lots of beautiful women. Well it turns out that one of the beautiful women didn't go home at the end of the night. There was some incident involving either five or six actors. Two have died. Not knowing what to do, these actors got a studio gofer, now our dead producer and told him to get rid of the body and not tell anyone about it or tell anyone where the body was buried. Throughout the remainder of the producer's life, these actors took care of him, but were always afraid he would spill the secret because he was the only one who knew where the body was buried. No body, no case. Now, they are just worried that something will show up in the estate sale and some person will stumble onto a letter or some other evidence hidden in a desk drawer which will come back to haunt them. Maybe that's why one of the actors offered to buy the house with everything in it at a price that is twice what the place is worth. Still waiting to see if it will be accepted, but there won't be an estate sale yet for sure. The actors think they are being careful and that their true motives are unknown. Not at all the case, but the producer's widow is happy to take their money and be done with it. One hint is they have all been in at least one western. Although it could be on television OR in a movie.

Okay, I don't see this on the home page but it shows up on the banner of today's posts? I'm confused (granted, it doesn't take too much to do that but... )
I thought producer recently died, so not my original guess.

If you can find the original blind and the original comments, people worked this one out back in the day. I can't remember who all was involved though....either the actors or the people commenting. :)

Enty, I don't if that is possible, but the old format where comments would open in a new window was better than this one where we have to go back. Not sure if it can be fixed, but...
As for the blind, it could be anyone from Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall and Robert Mitchum to a (young) Sam Elliot.

All I've come up with is Producer Paul Helmick who died in May 2006 which would make this off by one year. I can't find any family info on him, but he worked on El Dorado with John Wayne, James Caan, Robert Mitchum, and Ed Asner.
@gingertits I'd tell you not to clink on the link to find out if your significant other is cheating on you but worth all your bitterness you couldn't possibly have a significant other.

Right, for once in my lifetime IE works better on this site than Chrome. Which is a bummer coz my phone is an Android and the site is Godawful on there now. I will figure it out. I will, I will, I will.

Is there not a mobile friendly site, no longer? It was so easy to read it on my phones tiny screen.
But I can see the new format without issues on the laptop... and I am using Firefox. The site loads up fine.
I miss the old mobile site.

When I saw the 2007 date link at the top I thought that it was a reveal. So instead, I gather, it's redo?!
I don't know westerns either, but it sounds like a horrible story. I thought that back in the golden days of Hollywood that they just would have told the police to help them clean things up and keep it quiet. Haven't Hollywood police and government always been in cahoots (cahoots - Heh) with the biz?
IJU, is the latest version of Chrome on Android as shitty as the latest IOS version of Chrome? Google dropped steaming pile of horsecrap last week with their latest upgrade to IOS chrome.
Chrome is working for me. I click the comments (after reading the blind) and they appear below the blind & ads. I just scroll down. Enty is going to have a whackload of tweaking to do to get this site up and running well on all browsers/platforms.

@boredtech Android hasn't gotten the updathe yet. I think it's coming this month. I've heard nothing but bad stuff from iOS users though.
I can see some stuff sometimes, then other stuff at other times. To update comments I have to delete my history before it will refresh.
I know it's free, and I shouldn't complain, but I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to see the comments. Getting side-eye from the kids. :|

Im sure those are not the only Hollywood people with literal skeletons in their closets. Watch the tv show RAY DONOVAN. Their story lines are not made up. These things really happen!
PLEASE change the site design, the old one was "fine" this is ugly, clunky and the photos are out of proportion. I can't come back again and keep seeing this!

First time poster, looooong time reader.
I have come out of the shadow to say I REALLY HATE the new site design. It is very clunky and hard to navigate. But I think no amount of bad feedback will change things back.
I have enjoyed reading all the posts and every ones replies and will miss the daily giggles, OMG moments, disappointments and updates. Even though I have not been an active member, I will miss the daily grind of CDAN if it continues with this format. :(
