It is said she drove her husband crazy wanting fame and big bucks..He was suffering from a variety of health problems including depression. Also, the humiliation of having them both being fired from her failed talk show (he was executive producer) was too much for him and he killed himself. They were married for more than 22 years
Joan was a wannabe leading lady, wasn't pretty or talented enough. She was a jelous old hag.
It's still quite hard to believe all those things about JLaw (photo leak, rumours about her and David O'Russell, Liam etc.) Her PR-team did a great job creating her image.
Jen wouldn't come onto Fashion Police and unlike tv actors she didn't need to. If she did come on you know Joan, & G would of been fawning all over her, not to mention Kelly would try to be her best friend and follow her around LA.
Jen's just didn't have competition that year, that Oscar was really for Winter's Bone, which she was also nominated for but lost.

Harvey had to work long and hard to kill the positive buzz that initially accompanied "Zero Dark Thirty" and get JLaw the statue instead of Chastian. Whether this means Jennifer put in some time on Harvey's Wintry Bone is an entirely different issue (I hope she didn't, and I'm fine to see Bigelow's pro-torture trash bite the big one), but to say she had an easy walk (in a role she was too young for) is really revisionist history, IMO.
Only show I have ever walked out on (live, movie, concert) was Joan Rivers in Vegas. Ages ago and it was just not funny. Mean and dirty. And I'm no prude.
She was an icon. There is no one like her though there are plenty of wannabes. No one openly tells it like it is, they all hide behind blinds and innuendo and pseudo-scandal.

Joan Rivers was a self made legend who overcame a lot and built an empire. She was a brilliant comedienne and the world is less funny without her. R.I.P.
I never cared for Joan Rivers. Not because she was such a bully with dated humour, but because she couldn't take it when it came her way. She is certainly right on with this one, though. A lot of people have said this.
I miss Joan. Sure she was outrageous but man, she can make you laugh. Seriously, go fuck yourself if you can't take a joke. She pretty much told the truth.
