I haven't gone to Burning Man, nor do I suspect I ever will, but I do believe the playa gets rather cold once the sun goes down? Did I make that up? Anyone? Anyone?
Ha! I once slept with someone who once attended, so I have no idea, but that sounds plausible. It would explain how people survive.

The playa is what the area that the burn is held, in Nevada where Burning man is held. It's run by the Dept. of Interior, they get a permit, and must leave it spotless. You're not allowed to throw water on the "playa".
