Colin Kaepernick is being blackballed because he was terrible at his job this year ,more than anything.

Colin Kaepernick wasn't terrible, though. Statistically, he was very 'middle of the pack.' The 49ers were terrible, but not because of him.
Soapy could have the teams right the Maras and Rooney's are family.

Yes the Rooneys own the Pittsburgh Steelers and are cousins to the Maras. Rooney was named in their honor.
Rooney Mara's first name is the surname of her mother's family (they own the Pittsburgh Steelers). Her dad is a Mara. They own the NY Giants.

If this is a middle of the road player (whatever sport); and, no one is knocking at his door, maybe the fact the teams aren't knocking is that "he sucks as a player?"

David, not sure if I'm going to answer your question, but I'll try. Sometimes players just don't garner any offers as they get older. Other times owners don't want the headache if a player if known to be a handful off the court, field, diamond, ice. Most times someone will take a flyer on a player if they think they can 1) put their team over the top 2) put fannies in the seats.

I don't believe this. Yes I can understand one owner telling another that a specific player is a problem. However blackballing is physically impossible. The sport isn't specified but most leagues have twenty or more teams. Many teams have multiple owners, majority and minority, and in most cases the owners aren't directly involved in recruiting players. It is their general managers, coaches etc. So, in order to blackball a player, you need a conspiracy of a hundred or more people. Just not practical. Most players that are passed on are for legitimate reasons of performance, personal issues such as drugs and public relations disasters.
