Avril Lavigne

Ah, but did the body double write the songs?
Yep
And she did all those drugs too:)
Seriously one of my favorite myths. Give me more spice Enty!!!!
Which one married Chad Kroeger?
You should know, you supplied them
Beware of fake Tricias, folks
+1 Avril
and here I thought her demise was just that her fans grew up while she still stayed immature
Totally Sheryl Crow except for that whole foreign born and body double thing.
The blind is probably about Melissa. ;)
Actually not a myth...I had a close friend who was friends with someone in the touring band back in 2000 and he told me about her not writing her own songs and wanting all the credit among many other unsavory things about her. I liked her first record and didn't wanna hear but could never forget it.
The myth isn't that she didn't write her songs, but that she was 'MacCartneyed'.
Who thought Avril wrote her songs? I always thought she was sold as the Alt. B.Spears. Her first album is good.
@F&G, Did your friend of a friend know when Melissa replaced Avril?
Kristin has a wealth of drugs.. Does she walk into the supply room and steal them, that's the question of the day?
Whoever the new Avril is, she looks a lot better than the old one.
I'm sure Avril writes as much of her songs as most of the others do...namely adding a few words or an "oooo" or "ahhh" and getting a songwriting credit for it.
I agree with the above person who said her audience grew up while she stayed locked in her original image.
She will be 50 and walking around in smeared eyeliner and Hello Kitty tulle dresses.
It seems she got a good deal and made enough money to last her the rest of her life so...good for her.
Look at Madonna even older.
that's not why avril's career fell off

I love these switch-a-roo conspiracies. However, how is it that the girl who has talent and sounds like her also happens to look like her? Mode importantly, what about all of the people in Melissa's life pre-takeover? Id think the leaks would be much bigger than what we have had. Wouldn't people from avrils life alsi be spilling the beans? And, what supposedly happened to the original?
Sorry for typos, apparently autocorrect didnt appreciate my earlier support of Flashy.
I believe someone else wrote her songs, but I don't buy the body double theory.
@Vita.
Stand fast! No Surrender!
This can't be Avril because she had hits for a few years there, not just all from her first (or even just one) record.
Definitely Avril.
I remember being in high school when her first record came out, and it was a big deal that she "wrote all of her own songs". I was surprised, since during that time of music, it was uncommon for MTV artists with videos & on awards programs to try and say they wrote their own music and make such a big deal about it... kinda like "i'm different, I'm not like these pop stars, I do it ALL myself"
I don't know. When it leaked that she didn't write any of it I wasn't surprised.
Ok... this is something I actually know stuff about 1st hand. I can tell you Avril absolutely wrote on all these songs. What the percentage was is something that comes up in agreed splits, but she totally was on these songs. What is more annoying was the team she worked with who were hired to work with her, fighting with a 16 year old in the press about it. They never had any significant hits after Avril, even got a record deal, with an album that never came out. If you are in your 30's fighting with a 16 year old, you are an idiot. The narrative they built through publicists went against Avril and not the loser writers (they are assholes). Notice that the other writer she worked with on the album (Clif Magness) never came out saying he wrote all the songs...because he didn't, they were co-written with her. Granted, she is a bit of an unpopular and undesirable person these days, i will forever stand up for her contribution on that 1st LP.
