A 40-something celebrity who is legally designated as a tourist attraction in two American cities ran into a bit of trouble last year when he was briefly in London. Seeing how he was able to bring fans to his cities, the British Museum decided to "borrow" him for a bit, ideally looking at a longer-term residency to boost their visitor numbers. They offered him a free tour and sent a limo to bring him to the museum, giving him total star treatment. After the tour, they held the attraction in the museum by letting him play with knick knacks from the gift shop, keeping him entertained. Unfortunately, the tourist attraction did not attract nearly as many fans as he does in the states, with only one visitor noticing him and giving him a half-hearted wave. Seeing this, the British Museum discarded their plans for a longer-term stay of the tourist attraction and finally let him leave. The tourist attraction is looking forward to his continued work in this career path, since, once he hits 50, he is eligible for a raise due to being contractually considered a historic landmark in the larger city.
