It's Official; Miley's Apology Sucks - Miley's "apology" last week to Asian people just seems to have made them even more upset at Miley. I said last week that it didn't even sound like an apology, just her saying the word sorry and hoping that was enough. Well, executive director of the OCA George Wu said, "It's not a real apology. We're not backing down without a fuller apology."
And apparently George was not alone in his belief. The president of the Asian American Justice Centre, Karen Narasaki, said, "It sounds like Ms. Cyrus doesn’t understand the pain felt by those of us who grew up being taunted by insensitive people making fun of our ethnicity by making exactly these kinds of faces and gesture."
I also don't think Miley doesn't understand the pain felt by people forced to watch her show or listen to her talk for longer than two minutes.
Fore!! - Well actually two. That is now the number of children Tiger Woods has. His wife Elin gave birth to a son who they are naming Charlie which is an obvious breach of celebrity etiquette. I was hoping they actually would name their son Fore!!, but apparently they just decided to be normal. Although they did give him the middle name Axel. But they spell it like Axel Foley rather than Axl Rose.
Can I Have Fries With That? - Starbucks finally released the details of their value meal plan. Apparently they want to start competing with other breakfast places and are even willing to reduce their prices to do so. How would you like to start off your day with a Starbucks coffee and a bacon egg & cheese sandwich? At Starbucks it will cost you $4 and at McDonalds it will cost you $1.99. They might want to rethink this whole thing.

Finally! This morning I slept in and did not have breakfast at home, decided to get something on the way. My only option en route to the office was Tim Horton's, whose breakfast sandwiches are pretty tasty, but their coffee tastes like lukewarm misery. I also walk by 4 Starbuckses on the way, and I like their coffee, but they don't have any breakfast stuff, unless you are able to get by on yogurt w/ granola, which I am not.
So this, to me, is good news. Corporationy or not.

Harriet, they don't do breakfast Ncnuffin types at Starbucks? they have here since last year. they sit in a cooler all day wilting. can't be good for bacon or eggs.
None of the ones I walk by do. They are all the smaller kind though so they probably don't have the full line of edibles.
And I stand by my comments about Timmy Ho's. I can find cheaper ways to get a warm cup of brown water ;)

at the risk of not sounding pc...i totally think the miley thing is being blown out way out of proportion.
I do think the Miley thing is blown way out of proportion. And I also think Hannah Montana was lucky to get the talented Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Mitchel Musso as part of its original cast, as they make an otherwise unwatchable show entertaining. (My daughter is just now growing out of her Hannah Montana phase - Thank God! I've seen more of that craptastic show than I would care to admit.)
I'm with Pookie and KellyLynn. I can't be the only one who noticed that said Asian person in the photo looked like he was actually doing the 'big eyes' thing (trying to make his eyes wider...). Looks to me like a bunch of kids having goofing off, making fun of each other. The only problem is, Miley is a 'public' persona, and so every single thing she does, private, public, or otherwise, will be put under a microscope...
