Thanks for Aksel Lund Svindal in the previous post. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an awesome pic of Julia Mancuso. Not that she has ever looked bad in a pic. :D

I read this morning that the Canadian women's hockey team are kind of in trouble for smoking and swigging beer and champagne on the ice to celebrate after all the fans had left, potentially "embarrassing" VANOC. Bah. I say let 'em.

I gotta say, I thought Mirai Nagasu was OUTSTANDING.

The shorty track speed skating has been one of the most entertaining events thus far in the Olympics. So many disqualifications...

Those figure skaters were all so beautiful and amazing. It was worth staying up late to watch. Joannie, my prayers are with you and your family.

Will the Canadian Women's Hockey Team be asked to leave like USA's Scotty Lago? Scotty didn't break any laws, but the women did, underage drinking. Both were in poor taste. IMHO.

The drinking age in BC is 19, isn't it? Very few would have been underage.

RocketQueen said...

I just checked. They're all of age, so no problem with underage drinking.

Just to clear something up...

Yuna's last name is Kim.
Koreans say their last name first when meeting people.

TV commentators kept calling her Kim.
I think they thought that was her first name.
It was driving me crazy last night.

Okay...got that off my chest.

I have a huge massive crush on Billy Demong and Johnny Spillane. Did you see the final NC 10k race? Absolutely amazing the way they worked together to get that 1-2 finish. (They also owe a huge thanks to their teammate Todd Lodwick who gave up his chance to medal so he could slow down the chase pack to benefit his friends.) What's really cool to me is that they really love each other and are true friends, it isn't fakey-fake for the cameras.

I feel so sad for Joannie Rochette.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Meghan Agosta. RocketQueen - Marie-Philip Poulin is only 18 ;) But f*ck it, I say. They were having fun, who really gives a sh*t? Same with Scotty Lago - poor taste, sure, but harmless fun. The IOC has a massive bug up its arse. Party on, ladies! ;)

i have not been able to watch winter sports, especially the olympics, in years, it's some kind of weird depression i have, knowing i'll never be able to do any of those things ever again.
i was ready to try this year, was really ready, and then that horrible luge accident.
wanna know how many years since i skated? Asada's move was illegal. i know because i used to do it when nobody was looking. of course i also had to do 2 hours of figures 5 days/week. THAT i sucked at!
they say the ability to do such things is the reason my joints are shot.
aren't i special?

I read in the Wall Street Journal, an article about the European bobsled team who's driver bailed on the race because he was scared.

Glad to see the chicks had the stones to go :-)

jen & rocketqueen: the female player who is 18 is also from Quebec where the legal age is 18, not that it makes it legal for her to drink here in BC but really, I doubt they were drunk, puking, fighting, stripping. They were celebrating.
