An Amazing Four Year Old

In Iowa Sunday night, a four year old girl was in a car accident with her infant brother and mother. The truck slipped off the side of the road and overturned. The four year old girl managed to get out of the truck and then walked a quarter of a mile through a foot of snow to a farmhouse. She then managed to get in the garage of the farmhouse where someone spotted her. She told them she thought her brother was hurt and her mom was dead. It turns out that both her mom and her brother only suffered minor injuries.

It is amazing to me how a four year old girl has the instincts to get out of the car which is overturned in a snowy ditch in the dark and somehow managed to find help. I still don't know why she did not knock on the door of the house, but she told police and reporters that she knew someone would find her in the garage. The girl was wet and freezing when the farmhouse owners found her.

This story gave me chills, thank God she did not freeze to death or get hit on the road, etc, etc. What a wonderful little girl!

Smart girl. They should be proud of her.

Good thing the homeowners found her in the garage. She could have frozen to death in an unheated garage while her mother and brother suffered the same fate in their truck.

I told my sister-in-law this story and she said, "You know in ten years she'll be throwing it up in her mother's face. I shouldn't hafta clean my room... I saved your life!"

Ha ha, can you tell she's got a teenage daughter?

Wow, I have a 4, about to be 5 year old, I can't imagine her being able to do this, but they do seem to rise to the occasion.
