Pete Wentz Didn't See The Divorce Coming
Apparently Pete Wentz did not know that Ashlee Simpson was going to file for divorce. Last week he gave an interview to Radar in which he said that he was planning something special for Valentine's Day for the couple. Ashlee's people said she filed for divorce because Pete is erratic. There have also been reports that Ashlee did not want Pete to go on tour with his band. Umm, that is kind of what he does. You know, musician. Playing in front of people. That is how it goes. Ashlee probably does not remember the whole going on tour thing because no one really wants to see her play live. I just don't know how you go from hand holding and looking all loving and two days later file for divorce. Something is going on here and it probably will not be too long before it breaks.

I don't know what to believe. Yesterday, BlindGossip.com revealed them as the the couple from their December blind who were already broken up but waiting to announce - prob in January. They said both Asslee and Pete have moved on to other people.
PS - yesterday, Ted C said their breakup was Vice related. They are popularly believed to be "Vicki Vamp Void" (I think?) and Humpy Harlow.

BlindGossip is the most bogus site on the internet. 99% of their crap is made up stuff that can really never be disproven. Also, phony stories were sent to them as a test and they posted them.

I totally agree with you, Patty! Pete's not perfect, but he seems to be more stable & capable of interacting with humans in a positive manner than she does. I think he went to the Super Bowl & Ashlee & Papa Joe decided it was a good time to pull one over on him. I really hope she doesn't get physical custody of Bronx, because I get the vibe that Pete is the better parent & the one who has a loving connection with the kid.
I just hope Pete gets primary custody of Bronx Zoo. Asslee will prolly try to turn him into a purse.
How do you know they had info about THIS breakup back in Dec? Their blind sounds nothing like this one. Pete's moved on long ago? He was tweeting about how wonderful Ashlee was 2 days ago.

Gee, did ya ever consider they just constructed a blind about a breakup, like they construct all the others, then when Ashlee and Pete announced they were breaking up, they decided to say "THIS WAS WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT!" and put a big "Ashlee and Pete" stamp on that particular blind?
Nothing in that blind matches their situation.

Ashlee behaved so badly when she was on Broadway in "Chicago" that I'm willing to believe the worst of her and her father.

If Asslee is Vicky Vamp Void, who has she been photographed with? According to that blind, The tingling twosome are more than happy to parade in front of the paps, soaring as high as weather balloons
The stuff about the nose sure sounds like her, but I've only ever seen pics of her with Pete/Pete & kid.

@Mango - that Ted blind was from ages ago, before the two ever got married. I believe Pete was straight-edge when he met Ashlee. Not so much anymore.

Unless she was worried about drug use I'm not sure why she wouldn't want him to go on tour. And why couldn't she go with him if she wanted to keep an eye on him. Their son is young enough, and it's not like she works.
I'm no fan of either but this always seemed like such an odd coupling, so I'm not surprised they're divorcing. Rumors of drugs or infidelity aside, I wonder what they even have in common. Pete grew up in an upscale North Shore (Chicago) home, and despite his band's fame always seemed pretty chill and low key, and she's a known lip-syncher who comes from a notorious money-grubbing showbiz family. He probably has the money to fight her for custody if he wants to. Although if FOB does tour that probably will hurt his custody case and there goes the $$$. It sounds like she backed him into the corner.
@ Patty - Exactly. Asslee is the one who gets sloppy drunk in public (i.e. US Tennis Open and some other event where she cursed our Pete's ex Michelle Trachtenberg for no reason). There have been blinds that Asslee has been using coke. In fact I think that was why Heather Locklear had her kicked off the new 90210 b/c Asslee was giving drugs to her teenage daughter who would visit the set.

Sounds to me like her publicity had waned...how better to get on the front page of the tabloids than to spring a divorce on your husband?

Although something tells me he has too much class for that, and this will be settled quietly, with her getting much more than she deserves.
