Weiner In Women's Lingerie

It was during college after all, and that was almost 20 years ago, and it was probably a prank, but now was not the right time for these photos of Congressmen Weiner to show up on the cover of The Enquirer. Blurry? Yes, but it is clearly Weiner wearing some women's lingerie that he probably borrowed from Oscar De La Hoya. Other pictures inside the magazine show the Congressman all oiled up. Meanwhile, his wife, Huma Abedin, has been out of the country but arrived back in Washington D.C. this morning. Instead of finding her husband at home she just found a swarm of reporters. He supposedly has left for a treatment facility, but considering he only has two weeks off, I am not sure what he hopes to accomplish other than hide.

I really really want Huma to talk about this on television with someone.

Ugh, still with this story? During my boyfriend's birthday a few years ago, we all got pretty sauced and he and his buddies dressed up a bit like this, too - we laughed our asses off. I would hate one day for someone to decide that makes him "perverted". We get it, he inappropriately sexed a bunch of ladies while married. Next.

Amen RQ -- Tell the press to drop it so that the REAL news can get back into people's minds.

College?!? COLLEGE?!??!?

Now we're judging what people did in COLLEGE??!?!

I think Weiner is nas-tay -- and that picture is hilarious -- but that is just NOT fair.

Christ. Most of us are totally screwed, let's face it.

All I know is this: if I ever become famous and pictures of me at my dorm's White Trash Truck Stop Party ever get out, I'm completely doomed.

idk. if you're in college, and you're at some point considering a political career, you watch yourself. college isn't all fun and games and getting it all out of your system before you embark on life...for some people, the preparation is serious business, and they know that they need to watch and think about what they do. i'm sure this guy had political aspirations early on, as many politicians do. i can't feel sorry for him. he should've watched his ass. i don't buy into justifying stupid stages and actions in your life just at stupid stages you outgrow. it's great to live it up and have fun, i'm not knocking that. but i am knocking not having a mature enough foresight into the repercussions your actions might have later. suck it up, weiner.

Did anyone else see Bill Maher and Jane Lynch act out the facebook messages between Weiner and one of his "girlfriends" on Real Time? It was HILARIOUS.

I think he's gross, but I still kind of feel like this is a non-scandal. Maybe I've been desensitized to this sort of thing, I don't know, but I kind of feel like it's time to move on.

I despise Weiner but I'm not going to blame him for some college goofiness like that. Lord knows we all acted stupid in college. If it weren't for all the other crap he's done this wouldn't even be worth yawning at.

Breitbart isn't going to rest until Anthony resigns.

But 56% of his district polled want him to stay in office.

I think he will finish his term out but he will be a toothless tiger in Congress and doubt he will be re-elected.

Which, honestly is a shame becuase he did a lot of good for the time in office. I just can't get past the lying. I could care less about sexting and pictures.

I am so sick of the sex-negative attitude the mainstream media is projecting with their coverage of Weiner. Who effing cares? We all do dumb shit. They were all consenting adults. Bill Clinton did worse and he didn't resign.

@pookie - it was almost 20 years ago... before anyone could have predicted the total destruction of privacy that the internet would become.

...but if any of my friends who dared fall asleep on the couch when i had makeup, a sharpie and access to sex toys ever choose to run for office, i'm a rich woman!

ricky, precisely. impossible to know what the future of technology held...but anyone w/ aspirations for a public office knows that everything that you choose and choose not to do, be it public or private, must be by design. he's just an idiot. i just can't justify it b/c our past couple of generations are bigger partiers and wussies than say our parents and their parents (and so on) when they were in college. i truly believe that 'men were men' concept of old, where they grew up and matured at a younger age than men now. this guy was an idiot, behaved like one, and is paying for it. i say deal w/ it and move on. i don't know that he can salvage any sort of a career, so i hope he has a good back-up plan.

I wonder who will get that Huma interview? Ann Curry, Maybe? I'll bet she'll get paid a fortune for it too. I feel very bad for Huma, considering the great work she does - but this could turn out to be a good thing for her. I see a big political future for her. Like when Hilary took that Lewinsky ordeal and spun it into her own golden career in politics.

Either shell be offered her own show on CNN - or her husband will. He could team up with Eliot Spitzer every night..

Sorry, I'm not going to hold it against anyone for wearing a silly costume at a friend's party just to amuse that friend while they were in college. He's not snorting coke off a hooker's ass, he's just wearing silly clothes. Sheesh, GWBush pulled some crap in college and he got elected President so let's move on.

Weiner should have cut his face out of all of those photos, he's much hotter that way. Not a bad bod for a guy his age.

Anyway, he should stay in Congress simply because NY is losing two seats in redistricting and his is reportedly one of them. No sense in paying for a special election for someone to serve about 9 months (and get free health care for life after that).

OMG....when will this stop....how far back are they going to go ? I bet they could find a baby photo of him in his crib touching himself...

Honestly, enough already. Maybe it was Halloween or part of a hazing ritual.

Why exactly should he resign? As far as we know, he didn't violate any law or congressional ethics rule. There's been no allegation of sexual harassment. He stupidly flirted with women and then lied about it. He's not the first married man to do this, nor will he be the last. My God, there was no actual sex involved. Bill Clinton did a lot worse when he was President. Vitter was involved with prostitution and he's still around. What about John Ensign? And Newt?

I think we can all agree that what he did was really stupid, but it certainly was not criminal.

The democrats are saying he's a distraction. He's only a distraction because they are making him one. If they would focus instead on the budget or the threat to Medicare, then this would start to fade from view. Let him work this out with his wife.

Based on the full-length gym photo I saw of him on Colbert holding his junk, I must say he has a hot body. Not so jazzed by his face...but that bod ain't shabby!

Queen Tidbit said...

I'm sorry, but the stupidity exhibited -- both in doing what he did and then in trying (so badly!) to cover it up -- calls into question his ethics and judgement. He lied repeatedly, to the public and to his fellow Democrats. (Not to mention to his wife.)

Yes, we all make mistakes and live in glass houses, but we aren't all in a public arena where you are expected to hold to a higher standard.

Moreover, this was a man who apparently was so full of himself that he antagonized and alienated many of his colleagues. I'm guessing that's a large part of why you don't see a swell of folks defending him.

Buh-bye. Wiener should pull out.

Queen Tidbit, I agree with whoever it was that said on TV that any member of Congress who is willing to hand over their cell phones and computers for an audit can be the first in line to tell Weiner to resign. Stupidity and bad judgement are not rarities in Congress, they are almost job requirements. If it's true he used Congressional resources for his behavior and offered to help any of the women involved cover up for him, then he has trouble coming.

I agree, the Democrats need to start saying no comment and go back to focusing on the people who are trying to camp out in my uterus. And that orange guy who hasn't created any of the jobs he promised. ;)

Oh for Pete's sake. College photos?

Again: Wake me up for the interview with Huma! And please, no Ann Curry (GoodMorningGoodMorningGoodMorningGoodMorning)

OT: So Justin Thereoux is now supposedly gay?
