After all the crap with that lady in Rochester and the parents of the year below, thank you.

Agreed with Vicki. I really like the photos here. Pretty much any time I see someone reading a book, it cheers me up a bit.

All I ever think when I see/hear the name Lorenzo is NWA..."Then me and Lorenzo rolling in the Benzo"

Yay, I'm finally on trend - saw these last night. They are wonderful, and yes, I cried. My kind of news for sure.

The world is not always a wonderful place, but it worth fighting for. These photos prove that.

I'm a weepin' fool for stories of kind gestures. Thank you :)

Wow, I loved that! I love independent bookstores too. I have a paperback copy of It by Stephen King that's over 20 years old. I drag it out on beach trips and long flights. I love a paperback book; I can't bring myself to read a book on a electronic device yet.

Oh man, now I'm crying at the office.

This is a really neat article. That little baby at the end really got me for some reason.

I want to know where the bookstore is so I can donate money.

@ Vicky. It’s the Paradox Bookstore in Wheeling West Virginia. Here’s a link about it and a ling to the bookstore itself.

*gulp*... Those were truly awesome and worth sharing! Totally brightened my day. As much as I love reading gossip and about the bizarre nature of society, it is so refreshing and good for the heart to see the bright side of humanity :)

So awesome. Thanks for posting this. On the linked site one picture shows kittens in a basket on a mans head. The second photo shows another cat, the momma?, still in the water. I hope that one made it to safety too.

Thank you Enty!!

(perfect timing-- totally cruddy day)

I'm not PMS'ing but my eyeballs leaked too. I really think overall that people are good. Call me idealistic but I see so much more good than bad.

@ Sacha I had the exact same thought about the mother cat in the water, I've been searching but I can't find any other photo's of this event. Cats's can swim, so let's hope that she made it ok and was reunited with her kittens!

Thanks Enty for this. Enough inspiration to pay it forward. There should be more posts like this, preferably every week, so our faith can remain restored........

Where is that bookstore? I love little old bookstores. The owner is so nice I want to go in there and spend at least 50 dollars to help them out.

Jason Blue Eyes said...

Oops - never mind. I saw your reply above Noetje.

I rarely cry (stoic Norwegian and all) and even I had to pull out a few tissues.
Thanks for sharing!

The bookstore sign is from The Paradox bookstore in Wheeling WV. I believe it has been there since 1974. My father took us there for years and it is still there!

I EM the link that was given and they EM back with this info:

http://weakcreaturepress.wordpress.com/2012/06/21/indie-bookstore-alert-paradox-books-wheeling-west-virginia/

That first picture of the two guys pulling out the sheep is a beautiful way to start off that post.

I've been having such a hard month that when I've seen this link elsewhere I refused to click. I didn't want to feel good. Today I decided to do it. I'm glad I did. I forget there are selfless people in the world sometimes.
