Googled "actresses living in Malibu" and came up with Tatum O'Neal, Goldie Hawn, Ali MaGraw and Sally Field. Tatum sounds like a good guess.
No guess, but I would love to do this. Actually I have been known to do it to Mormon boys and other fellowship doorknockers. Obviously, I am no celeb, but it is fun to freak folks out with my "lewdness". What can I say - I love lounging in robes.
Also Gloria Swanson and Clara Bow--maybe this is a reaaalllyyy old blind, lol.

Faye Dunaway lives in West Hollywood. There was a news story about her getting evicted from her NY rent-stabilized apartment b/c it wasn't her "primary residence." Also, at 71 Faye is aged, not "aging."

A radio dj in Memphis who has since passed away lived in LA for a while and often told funny stories on air about when he worked as a delivery guy for FedEx. More than once he had to make deliveries to Marlon Brando's house. Think "Superman" Marlon, not "On the Waterfront" Marlon. Brando would always sign for the packages wearing only a little shortie kimono-style robe that wasn't nearly long enough to cover his own package!
I can see Goldie doing this but I thought they lived in CO.

I like the Cher guess. With the robe, and if she had her hair pulled back with no makeup, she just might be unrecognizable.

An actress who doesn't need to be "on" all the time or who has a decent sense of humor. Streep, Mirren, McLaine, whoever -- it's not like they're rolling up in a negligee and asking if the guy has a "package" for them. (Now that I think about it, Mirren should totally do a hidden-camera show where that's the entire schtick. And when the poor UPS guy can no longer form a sentence, she cracks up and let's him off the hook with a, "I'm just fucking with you! You're a good sport, though. Do me a favor and look over there, into the camera. Taylor! Come out, honey! Meet my husband, Taylor Hackford! But, seriously, where do I sign?")

Okay and why is this a shocker? Unless the robe is sheer or overly short, I don't think this is a big deal. I answer my door in my robe all the time to the point where the UPS guy notices when I get a new one and I have about 15 different robes. They do cover everything though. Right now I'm laid up with an air cast up to my knee and have to use a walker. I'm not changing just to answer the door; it takes for ever to get there as it is!
