Blind Items Revealed #4 - Kindness

October 21, 2014

This A+ list mostly movie actor who will always be A list knows how to promote a movie with the very best of them, but this had nothing to do with promoting because he tried to keep it secret. While filming his latest installment of his franchise our actor has been all over the world. In each city he has filmed he has visited a US military base and had dinner or lunch with the personnel and also visited base hospitals. A total of five bases so far and he has not finished filming yet.

Tom Cruise

He is a good guy at heart. I think he must be shielded from the ugly business of his church to a certain extent.

You bet your booty they shield him from the bad side, BUT he knows the evils of Hollywood.
Surprised he'd support troops, TBH.

Still think he's wacky and I don't watch his movies, but I think it's cool that he does this.

I like Tom Cruise & none of the media or C.O.S, bothers me in the slightest-he's one of the hardest working actors out there.
I also really liked his last movie w/Emily Blunt a lot more than a lot of the supposed blockbusters this past year!
This doesn't surprise me at all TBH-he does a lot of these kindness things but doesn't want it publicized.

Why is it surprising? He played Ron Kovic in Born On The Fourth Of July, played a Navy pilot on Top Gun, a Navy lawyer in A Few Good Men, and that had to have given him a certain appreciation for the troops, which he seems to have. He has made it a point in the past to visit injured troops when he was near military medical facilities, as he did a few years back at Landstuhl.

Oh my sides!!!!

I am SO SURE he wanted to keep this a secrets!!!

David Miss Cabbage could not WAIT to get some clam drones to tip off sites like this.

Scientology will do ANY THING for good press. Well it will do ANY THING period.

I have always heard that he is good to his fans. I don't think I've ever heard mean stories of him regarding his fans. Nice thing for him to do.

Does he set up a scio tent and bring church members with him? I don't doubt he wants to do something for soldiers I just bet he thinks hooking them up to an e-meter is the greatest gift he can give.

I always liked him, and his movies.

Lot of clams commenting here.

In my opinion he is just a victim of that cult (illegal in many parts of Europe like Germany). He often does kindness things according to people who have actually met him, unlike many hollyweirders.
I'm not surprised.
If he wanted publicity he could have done a lot of other things.

Agree 100% with Kermit. I don't think most of these Hollywood types are smart enough and sharp enough not to be easily swayed by a bogus cult run by a fake swami like Miscavige

"If he wanted publicity he could have done a lot of other things."

Like jumping on a couch on Oprah -- like someone on meth -- over a fake-for-publicity-only romance?

What more crazy grabs at attention can you ask from someone???

The only reason he is more lowkey about attention grabs now is that his handlers have told him that it backfired. Because the more people get to know him, the lesss they like him. It's better to just let these "anoymous" things leek -- because nobody has to hear his crazy to get the info!!!!

Most? LOL!!!

Meanwhile in the REAL world . . . a VERY small percent of "Hollywood types" take the "church" of Scientology seriously much less JOIN!!!

You sound like one of those morons who listen to Bill O'Reilly!!!

BTW there are only 50,000 members in the whole cult of Scientology.

Everything else you read is a lie.

And they are losing members.

It's a real pity about his clamminess. He's actually a very nice guy to the "little" people on his movies. Yes, he sets up a Scientology tent but nobody's forced to enter it and he's very pleasant to crew members.

I may be in the minority, but I like Cruise because he's talented and seems to have a good heart. He's a great actor and has been in some of my fave movies (I prefer his more serious roles to the action ones). I couldn't care less if he's a Scientologist or not, because all religions have their kookiness and controversies.

I have always heard he's a nice guy, according to people who have met him; very easy to talk to and friendly.

Huh. There ARE clams posting.

I'm no fan of Tom Cruise (on any level), but I used to date a guy who worked at a theatre in Telluride, and apparently when TC was in town he'd often rent out the theatre to watch movies with his family/friends. This guy said that TC was unfailingly friendly and polite to the staff, picked up after himself and always offered to help clean up afterwards. So I guess even though he's a weirdo in many ways, at least he's reasonably humble and well-mannered.
