Well I just looked up that Dylan O'brien interview. And apparently it was Live with Kelly and Michael and it was filmed in advance. So was ariana's they filmed at same time, but the interviews were released later at different times.

It said "is cheating" not "cheated on". With a strict agenda (world tour, interviews, perfume, etc) there is not much time to get somewhere else to meet someone for ONE day. Besides, people would have noticed her if she was at an airport where she not supposed to be. If you know what I mean.
