Blind Item #8- Kindness

This Scandal actress has personally picked up the tab for close to 100 dogs who have been involved in dog fighting kennels. She pays for their medical treatment and all the other expenses at the shelters where they will remain for the rest of their lives.

I remember Bellamy Young when she was on Celebrity Jeopardy & she played for an animal welfare org & if I remember correctly she won quite a bit of money.

I love this chick. I recall seeing her when she first came on the scene in the Broadway show The Life, she was great in it. So glad to see her career has taken off.

I wouldn't take that last part literally. If they're Pits, shelters will still try their best to get them adopted even if they were involved in fighting. Many of these "fighting" dogs actually have little or no interest in fighting but are put in the ring because of their size and strength. I know because we own an enormous Pitbull who was fought and he is the gentlest big baby you could imagine. All of the fight scars on him are on the hind legs because he was always trying to get out of a fight.

Nice to hear of a celebrity doing something so wonderful and sweet! I don't watch Scandal but good for her.

This is such a selfless act. If only the world had more caring people with the means to act like her in it.

That likely just means a "no-kill" shelter or sanctuary, where animals have as much time as they need to rehabilitate & get socialized before finding a permanent home. Many city shelters are full (especially with the breed in question) & the time animals have to be adopted is limited before they're euthanized. I volunteer at both kinds of places & it's heartbreaking how many wonderful pets are put down because of human irresponsibility.

I really love how she plays Melly, such sass and authority. Bigger fan now good for her.

So...let me get this straight, she is generous and loving towards aniamls trained to kill. However the innocent animals are still suffering and in need of caring for.
Let's look at it another way.
Let's say she is paying for the upkeep of ISIS members that have been caught. As opposed to the innocent victims of ISIS treacheries.
I know, I know, but slow down and weigh the values.

Most of those animals should be put down before they kill human beings. Hate that breed and their psycho owners. Sorry I'm not a fan

If this is Bellamy, she also does a huge drive every year for Blankets of Love (the org she won $50K for on Jeopardy). She gets her co-stars and friends to donate any old blankets, sheets, or towels for shelter animals. She gives it all to the organization at the beginning of each year. I know she also donates a lot of money the Humane Society.

Thank you for this Enty. These "kindness" blinds are always wonderful and uplifting.

Not true, they are NOT very dangerous. Many are used as bait dogs & never fight, they're just brutalized. The others are trained to fight dogs, not people. Most of Michael Vick's rescue dogs were a great success story. Ignorant comments.

They are all innocent. You think they wanted to be beaten and forced to fight? Jesus Christ, what is wrong with people?
