The thing is this is the norm for the fashion/clothing industry. It would be the exception if she had these clothes made in the country, paying fair wages, etc.

They earn "slave wages" compared to the US average, but way more than their fellow countrypeople (do you say it this way?).
Yesterday, Swiss people voted not to give a guaranteed basic income of 2250€. What they call "basic income" is more than double of a regular salary here (I live in the PIGS), and earning 1225€ a month here allows you to live quite acceptably. If those cheeses put a factory here and give us a salary of 2000€ a month, they would call it "slave wages", 90% of here's population would call it winning the lottery.
