There is no way the Royal Family will allow such a match. He will be allowed to have his fun but he will, in time, toe the line and marry a well connected inbred, or at least someone who will not outshine him. No more Diana dramas for this family. They learned their lesson about going off piste!

Well, one thing we do know about Kate: she's got no pedigree at all. She's a coalminer's granddaughter and her mother was born working-class and worked her way up the pyramid and then hit the jackpot when her daughter snagged the next Prince of Wales.
So after his brother, the Heir, marryied someone with less pedigree than the Westminster Best In Show winner, why do you think the now Fourth In Line can't marry whomever he pleases?
There are some serious issues (Markle is 35, has taken her clothes off onscreen, is biracial, divorced, and American) but Harry has no chance of succeeding to the Throne - William, George and Charlotte are all in front of him.
I'm betting that if Harry insists, the BRF will give way and just thank God he's not the Heir.
You mean they way they forced the actual Heir to the Throne to marry a well-connected inbred? Kate Middleton was a nobody and her family just barely clawed its into the upper middle classes in time to send the kids to St. Andrews, where Kate met William, and where the two Middleton girls were satirically referred to as The Wisteria Sisters: because they were decorative, fragrant - and climbing.
They may tell Harry privately to have his fun and then find someone who won't sully the bloodline and who will hog an inordinate share of the spotlight, but then again - they may just let give him enough rope to hang himself with.
And Ms. Markle is also a Catholic. I'm sure that doesn't sit well with the Royal Family.

HA! It goes to show when the right one comes along, you can't ignore it unless you wanna be miserable for evah. Look at that other relative who had to abdicate to be with his true love. If Harry's loins are on fire and he's truly happy with the hot to trot Meagan, so be it. He's got 40, 50 more years on this Earth, so might as well make it count. His happiness does not evolve around Kate or his brother or the queen, or any of them. Chase your dreams dude.
You are not kidding. I'm enjoying this immensely. I also think her marital status, citizenship, and career is not really what's bothering them. They should welcome some fresh juicy blood in that stale bloodline of theirs.

Unless I'm misinformed, it's more than "doesn't sit well" - it's English constitutional law: Harry would have to give up his and his children's place in the line of succession if he marries a Catholic, unless the lady converts. I believe one of his cousins, the Earl of St. Andrews, who was much farther down the line of succession than Harry, gave up his place in order to marry a Catholic years ago.
True, Harry's older brother has two kids, but Harry is still wayyy too close to the succession to marry a Catholic without consequences. He might not mind for himself, but he might for the children - it's not as if there's another sibling to provide a couple of spare heirs to back up William. And if, God forbid, the Cambridges get wiped out and Harry's kids are out of the running - the Yorks are next line! Arggghhhh!
But I don't doubt Markle will be happy to convert to the Anglican Confederation if it will help :)
My guess is the first thing Harry was schooled in when he got out of short pants was how not to get his girlfriends pregnant. This isn't Monaco, ya know. :)

As an English woman myself, I understand Kate's position. Kate climbed in a society where social climbing is unheard of and once you arrive...you are shunned as nouveau riche by the blue bloods. Kate, however, made it. Broke the glass ceiling and continues to take crap from the media and public but she successfully helped to transform the firm's image at a time when they were desperate.
Since Kate arrived, she, Will, and Harry became tight, with Kate in charge. And now...some American actress on a night time soap, who prolly met Harry while yachting, wants to bust in on the tidy trio where Kate has total control? Oh, hell no! Kate will have a say in whomever Harry marries. She's the sister he never had and a mother figure to him. He values her advice and relies on her for guidance. And Will is his partner-in-crime. Harry knows not to break up the trio.
I don't think Markle being mixed race or Catholic bothers the firm. I think the English are less racist than Americans. As far as religion goes, she can convert.
The things that both the firm most about Markle: American, actress (and not a serious one), racy photos/Suits' tapings, obvious plastic surgery (big no no). Although they would prefer Harry's future wife to be from old money with connections, it's not an absolute. Cressida was from a good family. Still, the firm was very nervous about her, because she was an actress. Kate did NOT want Cressida in the family. Cressida's half sister is Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, now married to Richard Branson's son, Sam. Kate, however, knows Isabella as Will's big ex -- or as some say "the one that got away". If Harry had married Cressida, Kate would have to deal with Isabella on a semi-regular basis. She dodged that bullet. She might be able to escape Markle too, especially if she can get Will on her side. Convincing Charles and the Queen will be easy.

Meghan Markle was picked up to be the human buffer. Harry was hooking up with Pippa for years. They paid someone to marry her and he found trashy Meghan. My guess is she hooked up with Piers Morgan first, then Harry. Why else would Piers publicy come to Meghan's defense?
