Said another way......a former A singer. He hasn't had a hit song in a long time. He cheated on his wife, who is soon to be his ex-wife. He's trying to keep his wife and the public from learning that he cheated. The woman with whom he cheated is much younger.

I worked for many years among people in the music industry.
Ric Ocasek is a bitter, petty, vindictive control freak weirdo, and probably worse.
He waited for Benjamin Orr to die before he would reunite The Cars, because he resented Orr getting to sing their biggest hit, "Drive."
On "Heatbeat City," he allowed drummer Dave Robinson in the studio for ONE DAY: He got DR to hit each drum and cymbal once, recorded it, then used the recordings for percussion throughout the entire album. None of that album is actually Dave.
The Cars were a lot more than Ric Ocasek, but Ric would hate for anybody to know that, and has worked his entire career to sustain his own ego at the expense of the band.
Ric is talented, wrote some great songs, and is not a hack. But still. He was not "The Cars." You can listen for yourself and decide by checking out a couple of his solo albums or 2011's "Move Like This" reunion album, where Ocasek sings all the (forgettable) songs.
No idea what's up with the beautiful woman he landed, and I can't help but think it's a very bad thing.

He was married when much younger Paulina started dating him , so nice to know karma catches up at some time.
Went to see the Cars in PGh one time,Wang Chung opened for them. Thank God Wang Chung was great because The Cars sucked big ones! They were horrible-what a waste of time and money if it hadn't been saved by Wang Chung. Although,I do love the sound of The Cars on vinyl and CD.
