I must be the only one that doesn't think Boardwalk Empire is the bees knees. I find it terribly slow moving. Some performances are great, some not so great. *shrugs*

Sometimes I get confused by which years movies are nominated in....I could have sworn Temple Grandin won a bunch of awards LAST year - why is it nominated again?

And I see the Betty White fandom is still going strong. Do we really think her performance was the best of the year in that category??

Temple grandin and you don't know jack won Emmys which are in September. All the others are in January so that's why the confusion

Why does Al Pacino get awards for playing himself in every movie?

@RocketQueen You're not alone...I just don't get the over all appeal of Boardwalk E. Sure, steve buschemi is great and Michael shannon has always been underrated but the show as a whole...it's not that great, just my two cents.

I'm glad Modern Family won!

@Amy in MI - ahh...thanks.

@jess - Yes Michael Shannon is GREAT. I also really love Michael Kenneth Williams, who plays Chalky White. I'll keep watching for them and hope the pacing picks up :)

So glad all Colin Firth is getting all the love.

Did anyone notice how awkward the initial introductory announcing was? The lady calling out various people on the red carpet? It was rushed & never on cue. Then once inside you clearly heard someone say: SHUT UP. I got a giggle out of that.

I'm glad Black Swan didnt win-
I feel like I'm the only one on earth who did'nt get into that movie.
lord- you make a film slightly avante guard and mainly nauseating camera angled and strip it of hollywoods normal big budget glitz and people just freak the hell out!
please

I know people are sick of Claire Danes winning awards, but she really deserves them all for that performance.

I had no idea Danes was still working! Gotta check that out. I loved her in Romeo and Juliet when I was a kid!

mooshki said...

Linnea, you definitely should. It's a good movie, and she is brilliant. She completely became the character.

I love Colin Firth!

Don't you just know that Annette Bening is shaking her fist heavenward, screaming "Queen Amidala, God? WTF are you serious!?"

I do think Annette has a better chance at an Oscar against Natalie than any of these recent awards. But the momentum is going Natalie's way I guess.
