Prince Albert Cheating - Charlene Wittstock Wants Out
Apparently it does not matter to Charlene Wittstock if you are royalty or not. If you cheat on her she is gone. Talk about a runaway bride. I did not go to the Bradley Cooper school of French so mine is pretty lousy. But, what I gather from reading L'Express is that Charlene wanted to leave the Prince and fly back home to South Africa but was stopped at the airport by French officials and persuaded to return. Nothing worse than having a royal wedding be canceled. Can you imagine Kate deciding a week before the wedding that she decided not to go through with it. Well, Monaco is not exactly England, but Prince Albert is still Grace Kelly's child so there is some relation to celebrity and stardom.
I say good for Charlene. She converted to Catholicism, learned French, and has had to listen to every Prince Albert in a can joke for the past few years, but it took cheating for her to leave. Prince Albert has had several illegitimate children over the years and I am guessing he cheated on her when she was in Athens last weekend and she found out and kept on going.

Good for her. That's badass! It proves that, for some people, an honest relationship is more worthwhile than a crown and a title.
Sidenote: I still think it's kinda unfortunate how Princess Grace's kids failed to inherit their mom's exquisite looks. :-/

I just read the article - it says she learned a few hours before from him about a kid he had in 2005. It also said there are rumours of discord between them generally.

Hurrah, a woman married to a public figure who is *not* willing to stand by when her partner is caught cheating. It saddens me that so many political/royal/celebrity wives stand by their man at times like this.
I thought the same thing Momster. But he has at least 2 or 3 illegitimate children, so I guess he's been sexing up the ladies more than we realized!

*Good* for her. I hadn't been following this romance and only saw pics of her w/him for the first time yesterday. They looked happy; well, she looked tense (word is the palace has been really mean to her, the way the Brits were to Diana) but he looked relaxed and happy to be with her.
I hope she does whatever's right for *her*, and screw him if he's been skeeving.
I think Albert gets his looks from his father. Not exactly someone you would look twice at if he weren't royal :) Caroline and Stephanie (before she screwed up her face with plastic surgery and hard living) are/were very beautiful women. And Caroline's daughters are gorgeous.
I think Albert has always enjoyed the buffet offered a single bachelor in his position. Flight attendants, waitresses, heiresses - he's definitely gotten around. But - he was a bachelor - so if he wanted to live that life style it was his choice, and if he wasn't committed to any woman in particular, then he wasn't really cheating, was he? But you think he would have given that life style up when he got engaged and got serious about his life ... apparently not? If he's still enjoying a bachelor lifestyle and she's not putting up with it, then good for her. She seems like a pretty level-headed woman - and not the type to put up with crap like that.
Albert has been a dog with women for years -- at least ever since he was in college here in the US. She had to have known what his history was -- it's not like she's been living under a rock, and they've known each other for 10 years. Maybe he convinced her he had changed, I don't know. But I know that I would not trust a guy with his track record with my heart. I wrote it yesterday, and I'll repeat it today -- once a cheater, always a cheater. The predeliction is there.
I really, really hope she tells him to eff off and goes back to RSA, if this is all true. I think it would be hilarious if his fiancee left him just weeks before the wedding, after the way he's treated women in the past ... and possibly present.
Caroline is the only child who inherited even a smidgeon of her mother's good looks, and her kids, especially the ones with Stefano, her second husband, are gorgeous. Albert looks like an IRS accountant who collects kiddy porn, and no one would look at him twice if he wasn't a prince. I've always thought Stephanie was ugly. She has a really square, masculine-looking face. She's kind of a ho, too.

I am correct. He is the royal I was thinking of, only the girl was born in California.
I think the interesting thing is that she's leaving him, he's a royal-whatever and she was not going to put up with it. I find that refreshing.

She makes me proud to be a woman, if only for a moment. Good luck to her!! And, that's not a very happy picture of her there. It's like she knows something is just not right.

He needs to have a legit son to keep the Royal family in charge of Monaco or France takes it over (or so I read). So he needs to get on that marriage quick. Or did they change the law and Stephanie or the other ones daughters will take over the crown.
Back the truck up a minute; if Charlene dumps his cheating behind, does she get to keep that ring? If so, I'm thinking the ring is the better deal here. Just a Brooklyn Girl talking, 'ya know?
Not only does he have an American daughter, he has a Black son with a flight attendant that you rarely every hear mentioned.
The daughter mentioned here is college age, her name is Jasmine Grace. She went to catholic high school in Orange County with the daughters of a friend of mine. After graduation she went to a catholic university in New York. Albert pays the bills, the mother was a real estate agent for a time.
